Visited for a family birthday after a days shooting and couldn't have been more welcoming. The beers on tap show that the owners know their stuff such as Chapel Down Curious brew a very tasty British lager/ale & the other lagers/bitters & ciders. Don't just think of this as a beer house as it's a very nice place to just... More

We'd heard good things about the pub so went Saturday lunchtime. Waited a good 5 minutes for someone to serve at the bar as she was also waitressing. Friendly but when we asked if food was bring served were shown the blackboard with half a dozen things including jacket potatoes and cabana. Having established what options there were for the... We went to this pub for lunch, not having read any reviews, we went with an open and unbiased mind! The menu was three courses for £20 or two for £16. As we didn't wasn't to 'fill ourselves up' we opted for two courses, main and dessert. The monkfish scam, sorry, scampi duly arrived, all five pieces of it, accompanied... More

Came for a feed. Was fully booked. Had beers instead. Great. Service fine, beers and ciders well kept. Hosts funny and engaged with the clientele. I like this place.

went for dinner with friends thought the food portions were small, but as the quality of the ingredients were very good, we did not feel hungry at all. The food was well presented and well cooked. The staff were very pleasant as were the surroundings, a lovely evening was had by all.

A nice pub on the edge of the village of Kilndown, had a good lunch and the local ale was kept perfectly. Well worth a visit.

We stopped in at the Globe and Rainbow for a spontanious Sunday lunch out. I was welcomed by the friendly bartender, but when I asked to see a menu, the visit started going downhill. "have you booked?" asked the nervous manager. When I said we hadn't there was a lot of hemming and hawing about if they could fit us... More

My partner had noticed the board at the A21 junction to & from work. We decided to go there for lunch. The welcome was very good and all seemed well. Beer and wine were very good and service excellent. We both decided on the monkfish scampi which arrived reasonably promptly......not surprising really, as the amount presented must have taken a... Eaten here twice in July, for lunch and for dinner. Both occasions a real plus on pub food being the best I have experienced in the area recently. Fillet steak at lunch was excellent and lamb at dinner was also tops. Chef is doing a great job. The timed bookings is a little frustrating. Will definitely be back.
