Visited on Easter Sunday - disappointed that roast lamb not on the menu. Service was slow and staff inattentive; some of the crockery was chipped (wouldn't sell in a charity shop). Food was average but, at £25 per head for 2 courses, expensive. Will not return.

I can't get enough of this place. The food is always outstanding, the menu is well thought through and there are always plenty of specials available. The atmosphere is welcoming and the pub and garden are well maintained. It is the perfect place to take friends or family when they visit and they are always impressed.

Visited The Duke's Head for Sunday lunch after a number of recommendations. Food was delicious and plenty of it. Not sure about the pint of slimline tonic water that was served, which did not taste too good..... I didn't know that they served tonic water on tap and was expecting bottled. Waiter was excellent, didn't catch his name, but know... More

Hi - thank you for your lovely comments. Yes Sam is a great lad and helped us out that day and did an excellent job. I think you were served a pint of soda water. Sorry about that! We do serve Tonic water in bottles only, either Schweppes or Fever Tree. Hope we will see you back to sample them.... More

Went there Sunday, as my 2 grown up children wanted to take me out for dinner for Mothers Day, we had a great time. It was busy as we expected, but we were not left for any length of time. Great extensive menu and we all had different - everyone was delighted with the food. I never have Sunday roasts... More

First time visiting this great pub, which I would say is more of a gastro pub due to the large space to dine in and the great food. Was highly surprised at just how great the food was. Will be returning soon. Highly recommend the fish and chips, didn't get to try the starters but all looked delicious.

We went for Sunday lunch and booked in advance. Some of the food was good though no dish was perfect. It was the vegetarian options which were most disappointing. The server seemed unhappy to be there and more interested in pushing the drinks then the food. Best bit was the bread basket. Go for that and drinks and you should... More

One of my two excellent local pubs. I booked lunch for 6 guys and it was suggested by the restaurant that we had a selection of starters, which at first I thought was going to be making their life easy. However, what they bought to the table was excellent, a wonderful scotch egg with a bhaji crunchy exterior and a... More
