Quality of food barely average, I had the Sunday roast which had the mashed potato missing as advertised. Theortion was small although my grandson had achilds portion of macaroni cheese which was very large for a child.the worst part of the visit was the state of the gents Loo's which were swimming in urine! I am unlikely to visit again

Booked for 7 for lunch. Arrived and had to wait 30 minutes before being served. We were only served because I went to say that we were ready to order to the waiter who was stood playing with his phone (it wasn't even busy!) Ordered our food and drinks and 30 minutes later the food started arriving in bits and... More

Recently had a family wedding reception here. Allowed to "dress" area to Bride and Groom's preference. Food plentiful and of Good Quality. Children catered for. Plenty of outdoor space. Car Parking plentiful.

When I telephoned to book Christmas day lunch back in October, I had to speak to the manager as she was in-charge of all bookings. I was told we could be squeezed in at 3pm as there were 10 of us so it would be the second sitting. I decided to visit the pub to make sure the table wasn't... More

I used to drink at this place fifteen years ago; it was also a good drinking pub. Now it is different; the car park is packed at 1230 on a Friday, they still have a good selection of real ales at the bar but the menu and service is very good indeed. We had scampi and gammon, all served with... More

Staff were very good. Food ample for the price. Toilets disgusting. Floors covered in I am not sure what in the gents!!!! The management need to pay a lot more attention to detail. Would I recommend, definitely not on this occasion!! May pop in for a drink in the summer but will sit outside!!!!!!!

Sunday lunch with the family of 6. Hadn't been here for several years so wasn't sure what to expect. Needn't have worried as the service, the food and the beer were all fine. I ordered the pork belly roast which looked fine when it arrived except for the pork belly itself. It was just a rectangular slab of meat that... More

Had a really disappointing experience in January. I had only recently discovered this pub and had visited at various times in December including lunch times, late afternoons and evenings for both meals and just coffees. On all these previous visits myself and my party had received waitress table service in the restaurant end of the pub. In January we visited... More

This is a popular pub and gets busy at the weekend. I would advise booking especially on a Sunday. Most of us had steak and we were not disappointed. One of the best I've had. Cooked to perfection. The menu has a healthy section so great if you are counting calories. Prices are reasonable. Typical pub grub!

Really, what is not to like here? The food is superb, the pub is exactly as a traditional british pub should be!! Furnished in dark wood, tasteful sofas, open fire, real ales and every beer, wine and soft drink you could need.... covered in a cosy, friendly and inviting atmosphere! A definite recommendation.
