We tried this place for a second time as it was our friends birthday but left quite disappointed. Service was fairly slow and our mains were Luke warm (cold plates). Such a shame as this place has quite a lot of potential.

Cannot say I have ever looked at prices pre visiting, and can say once you arrive, you will see prices, Le Benaix is not a venue to visit on a low budget, its prices reflect the total experience and fanastic delights... More

Description
Following in the success of sister restaurant Le Bouchon, the owners decided to open a sister venue in Rettendon Common on the outskirts of Chelmsford City, Le Benaix. A major restoration took place of the 16th Century heavily timbered period building which has been extended significantly to include; an Orangery which holds approx. 60 people, a Tudor Room which holds 16 people for an intimate family dinner or corporate dining affair with the Main Restaurant holding a further 75. Their welcoming oak beamed Bar and Brasserie area holds a further 40 people which during the winter months boasts two glorious log burning fires. Throughout summer months, you may dine Al Fresco in the beautifully landscaped and screened gardens with secluded intimate tables and a wider open lawn open area. The car park which is extensive, holds up to 80 cars. The venue caters for Private Functions and Special Occasions such as Birthdays and Wedding Anniversary dinners. Both venues offer a blend of French and English cuisine It’s the place to visit, have you booked your table yet?
