Having been in the area for most of the day, we decided to finish off our visit with a stop here for some tea time eats. It was a welcoming place, which was nice as sometimes when you visit the local pubs and food stops, you find the locals being a bit stand off ish of any one not from... More

Does great food, good selection of drink and most importantly for us has a large fenced off play area for toddlers. Makes it No.1 for us on a nice hot day.

went here for the first time for our anniversary meal, had a 3 course meal, apart from the mushroom soup not pleasing my taste buds the other 2 courses were very nice, will be going again for sure.

Went on a Monday evening with a 9-year old The lady who was serving couldn't do enough to help us. Excellent service. Fried onions not on menu but quickly made me some when asked. Food was perfect and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend.

Can not believe we only live 15 minutes away but only visited The Smugglers Inn for the first time yesterday! Staff were friendly and welcoming, good cask ale for hubby! We had a delicious meal in lovely surroundings. Will definitely be back, looking forward to bringing the grandchildren in the summer!

Pn a recent trip to England, we stopped here for dinner after touring the castle. It is a well kept old bulding, and the food is very good. The locals were especially friendly, and we really enjoyed visiting with them.

Walked in to this pub on a Sunday lunchtime, locals closed ranks at the bar to almost prevent access. Managed to get a pint for the wife and I and perched on the end of a table to decide if were going to dine as it was rather busy. Approached by we assume was the landlady (blonde lady)immediately who enquired... More

This is an unspoilt old pub without any TV, slot machines etc. The menu is entirely home cooked (including the deserts) at a very reasonable price. There are frequent music nights and it is always busy. Highly recommended.

Four of us had booked somewhere else, but a very noisy and unsupervised table of 8 young children had us leaving and looking elsewhere. One of our group recalled having a Christmas meal in The Smugglers, and since it was nearby we decided to take a chance. We were delighted! Real old fashioned pub with great service and lovely separate... More
