This used to be a favourite. Now they've upgraded the menu and downgraded the food. Their fish and chips used to be excellent. Now it's not even mediocre. It's described as "line caught". If so it was a long time ago! Tasteless. On top was a shriveled bunch of brownish greenery. When I asked why, I was told it shriveled... More

Don't know how this place does any business the service is terrible. The manger has a really bad attitude problem. Went there as a group for a birthday and they messed up the booking, the managers attitude was that we should be happy that he managed to put two odd tables together in a part of the restaurant that they... Great location. Used to be great. Now. ..... shoddy, surly service. Small portions of tasteless food. Vintage Inns normally good. What a shame. Pick it up guys you have a great opportunity at this incredible location.

I went in to the pub on 1st December for a early afternoon drink. It was so refreshing to see a smiley and professional face behind the bar. I asked his name before leaving and it is Rob. What an asset to this quite frankly otherwise shambolic pub! I have been here before to find members of staff eating their... More

I have no idea how this place gets away with being so far below the standard of most other Vintage Inns We live close by and it's such a shame. We were appalled the first time, to the extent we wrote and complained. Six months later we decided to give it another go, and it was just as bad, if... More

Pre booked a table for 7 for Saturday 26th November. When we got there one of the staff said he couldn't find the booking and when confirmed we had booked it on the Monday they immediately knew who we would have spoken to and said this was not the first time this had happened. I'm assuming it was the "manager"... More

I'm surprised to see so many bad reviews of this place! We went for a beef roast dinner which was hearty and tasty with great veg selection and delicious gravy. Puddings were divine - crumble and custard in particular. There was a problem with a cloudy pint of beer which was changed without any fuss. The waitress was cheery and... More

We had the sandwiches with fries. Couldn't eat the bread for the cheese and pickle sandwich it was very dry and stale. The 8oz steak sandwich was not 8oz although the meat was cooked to medium as requested - there was 2 pieces of onion that were so tiny you could have missed them - forgot the horseradish as per... Excellent meal plus a great choice of beers, during our three night stay we returned every night to go through the menu and beers on draught!
