Awful service, awful food. Had to return an overcooked steak, 2nd steak steak tough and chewy. Asked for no butter on any food, due to a dietary intollerance. However the carrots and beans were soaked in butter. Weak, slow waiting staff made this visit as intolerable as it can get. £3.00 for half a can of coke, and freezing cold... More

a warm welcome on every of many visits over the years, although the decor is a bit austere; service excellent; menu superb and quality of ingredients peerless; always cooked to one's wishes with excellent timing; portions are more than generous and decent Portuguese wines well worth any detour

I was invited to a celebratory dinner party at the Aldeia. The service was friendly and very helpful and alterations to the order and special dietary needs were no problem. Delicious food! We each ordered separately only realising when the food arrived that we had all ordered a range of prawn dishes, each with a different accompaniment, all vanished swiftly.... More

Popped in on the off chance to sample the cuisine. Glad, very glad I did. The menu is straight forward and has a good depth of dishes to tempt the hungry guest. The wine list naturally supports Portuguese wines and both Vinho Verde rose and white were light and refreshing. My choice of King Prawns followed by 10oz Sirloin steak... More

I have to be honest, I brought friends here based on my first experience which was excellent. This time was a different story... I ordered the same dish, vegetarian carbonara and was very disappointed. The pasta was under cooked. The sauce tasted different and not in a good way. It wasn't as creamy and "winey" and flavourful as the first... More

The food is good and tasty, we all had steaks which were excellent and well cooked. The lighting is a bit bright and they could do with candles on the tables for atmosphere. Mistake with the bill that was quickly corrected, so overall a very good visit.

Came here based on a family recommendation expecting something exceptional. The steaks we ordered were well cooked and tasted delicious. However, the desert and starter menu was uninspiring and unimaginative. It was a cold night and I don't think they had the heating on as our legs and feet were very cold. The waiting staff were not very welcoming but... More

I have been a regular at Aldeia for a number of years and it feels like the Algarve in Sussex. The menu is traditionally Portuguese as is the atmosphere- not haute cuisine but a lovely local restaurant with honest food and generous portions
