As the nights draw in, another night out for the Castle Camps Curry Club saw us heading to the Rose Palace in Haverhill part of the Rose and Crown, Hotel. From the time we arrived to when we left the staff were friendly, attentive, and accommodating, and the food was flavoursome and very reasonably priced.
There is a good selection of chef's specials and the standard curry dishes you would expect, looking for something different the chef prepared an absolutely delicious spicy rogan josh that was full of flavor creamy and spicy, amazing. Popadums, Naans, and sides were very tasty and the portion sizes were just right. The large hall/room that accommodates the restaurant loses a bit of atmosphere but it is a 17th coaching inn and I guess they are limited with what they can do with the decor. The food and staff more than make up for it though and a great night out was had by all. Would definitely recommend it and looking forward to going there again.

We were nicely surprised by this new restaurant, which we tried on a whim yesterday evening. Although it has zero ambience, the food was good and the service excellent. I’d rather eat here than at an overpriced, over-pretentious restaurant, but I have to calibrate my experience with many gourmet dining experiences around the world, many of which have been superlative. If we don’t return to eat in, we will probably get a take out.

We dined here with friends for the first time recently. First impressions the staff were engaging and friendly. We got our drinks at the bar before we dined. The food was served promptly. Must admit the naan breads were some of the best we have tasted. On the whole everything was okay. The only negative was the mains for example balti was served in large bowls which made the dishes quite 'soupy'. My partner had the chicken bhuna which had about 5 bits of chicken and with all our mains there was too much sauce and not enough meat. In conclusion the price was fair for what we had.

Date night at the new Rose Palace to see what it’s like. We ordered a selection from the menu it did not disappoint. The lamb Biriani was flavoursome with a nice spice to it. The passanda was creamy & quite mild but the prawn tikka masala was my favourite, lovely for dipping your naan into!
The only criticism was the napkins could be bigger as they’re tiny.
The service was amazing. We’ll be back!

The food was ok but not amazing and it seemed as if the kitchen/serving staff were a little overwhelmed. The place was buzzing but it felt a little like a barn rather than an intimate dining experience. Not sure. I will try it again. Finally the clientele in the bar area were a little ’lively’.

group of 11 of us visited rose and crown pub last Saturday night. Than we decided to have a meal in New Indians, Really the food was amazing, reasonable price and well cooked. Keep it guys the new owner. Thank you

Would have got five out of five but let down on the poppadoms which had very obviously been fried in old oil which meant they had a nasty taste. Aside from that easily one of the best curries we have ever had and will definitely go back.
