Great staff, great food nicely located in the heart of the town. Always managed to get a booking despite it clearly being very popular. Staff knowledgable, friendly, relaxed and helpful. Had three meals in Kroa with different choices each time - never disappointed. Great atmosphere with a nice buzz about the restaurant. Had a great time every time.

The fish was dry = not catch of the day or just fried all too long. Gave them feedback and got as explanation that kitchen is busy, sorry.

We ate here several times both lunch and dinner. Somewhat cozy atmosphere and relaxed but adequate service and good food for a reasonable prize (in Norway). Try the local Spitsbergen Pale Ale.

This is one of those places that is worth a visit to see the interiors - seems to be busy a lot - we made a reservation - food is fine but wouldn't blow you away in terms of choice - had a pizza for lunch which was more like a toasted bread base than pizza dough - also had... More

I was at Kroa a couple of times during a 6-months stay up on Svalbard. It's a cosy place to have dinner, especially after some taking trips in the cold vastness up there. The food is mainly standard western (e.g burger, steak etc.) - there is one rather scandinavian specialty: a moose burger. If you like some new tastes on... More

We both had the burgers - they were tasty but nothing all that special. The local beer here is served in cans. If you want it on tap go to the Svalbar.

We were spending a couple of days in Longyearbyen before heading off on an expedition ship & this place had been recommended to us. The food was great & the service friendly & efficient as they were very busy. We were a group of 4 & had the pepper steak, duck & clipfish & can recommend all those dishes. On... More

The single street in the town is dominated with clothes shops and restaurants and this restaurant seemed to be the one that the locals went to. Quite large and with an attractive rustic decor. Also a wine bar serving five draught beers. Terrific hamburgers with triple fried chips.

This restaurant came highly recommended so we made a reservation and went there for dinner the first night we were in Longyearbyen. It was a very popular restaurant in town, not just for us tourists, but also for the locals. Our food tasted good, the service was friendly and efficient. All was good!
