We had dinner reservations immediately following the show at the Playhouse and the timing was ideal. The host greeted and welcomed us immediately upon entering, then escorted us to our table. Our server cordially introduced herself and then took our cocktail orders and allowed us adequate time to review the menu. My girl started with the pear salad and then... More

Love coming here before/ after the theater! I'm working my way through the menu... Lamb shank is yummy. The curry is amazing. Enjoyed the crab cakes. Tonight was the seared Ahi Tuna. Can't wait to try the chicken teriyaki, the brisket and my own portion of the salmon. The soups are also flavorful. The desserts are really good, too. The... More

Was staying in the Playhouse Square area and on my last day in town, made the choice to go to District. A mistake! I should have gone earlier!! An excellent restaurant! I had the Ahi tuna followed by the Seafood Curry. Both were excellent as was the creme Brule. Stephanie at the bar provided great service and was very personable.... More

Had a 6 pm reservation for dinner, 8pm show, and the timing was perfect. The entire restaurant was empty when we left at 7:45p. Definitely caters to the theater crowd, no other "regular" diners there apparently. Service was good, menu nice/varied/modern, food was average. Atmosphere very simple...plain, actually. Nothing on the walls. Would recommend it if you were going to... More

This is our second time to District. The food was scrumptious. My hubby ordered the Sea Bass and I the Faroe Island Salmon with shrimp. We both recommend trying them. The Sea Bass was a bit spicy. (He loves a zing)! I didn't think I had room for dessert, but the Apple pie was a home run! You hit the... More

Server tried hard to please but apparent lack of experience made it frustrating at time. Offers far more vegetarian options than most. Broccoli and brussel sprout sides were cooked well but served plain. Sem-freddo dessert served partial frozen. More Savignon Blanc options of good value than most. Overall food was adequate.

First time here saturday night january 21. This chef needs to be retrained. The trout and the linguine with shrimp is bland, without taste, was microwaved, and used canned tomato sauce. I told the bartender that I would not eat this entree. She agreed, and said I should come back and she'll order for me. i do not recommended this... More

Eaten here several times over the past few years during Theater Season. Food is always very good, servers very attentive. Moderate towards higher pricing. Restaurant could do a little more with the decor and soften the nose levels.

Within walking distance to The Playhouse which is why we decided to try The District before our play. There were not a lot of people dining on a Tuesday before Christmas. They did not have any types of Christmas Ale which I think is strange for this time of year. Dinners were all good. The calamari appetizer was served cold... More

We had a nice dinner at District but the whole experience needed something. That something is warmth in decor. The restaurant space feels like it recently converted from a shop. It's very dry and open. It really needs some art, some color, and it REALLY needs something to block the breeze that blows down the walkways. The Cleveland Onion Soup... More
