My friend took us on a mystery trip for lunch from Tiffin, about a 30 minute drive to Carey, where Moreno's is located. We were pleasantly surprised. The lunch menu has many delightful choices which are all reasonably priced. The staff was friendly and accommodating....More

This seems to be a hit-miss restaurant. Party of 6 went out for birthday celebration. Service was slow and we were the only people in there. I had a salad and it was delicious. Other person in the party had the burger special for the...More

Very good food at very reasonable prices. if you are looking for the 'old downtown cafe' atmosphere - this has it with it's high painted tin ceilings & brick walls. In for lunch, excellent. Service was great. Recommend for visiting Carey.

We stumbled upon Moreno's during a recent trip through central Ohio and it was the type of fortuitous find that leaves you appreciating a spontaneous spirit. As a result of road construction, we were running behind schedule, so our original restaurant was not going to...More

Because of a detour on the road we came through Carey and found Moreno's. The steak salad & southwest chicken salads were crisp and perfect as was the service.

Description
I have requested that you list this restaurant in your reviews before, but you did not reply. It is very good a deserves a review.Features Mexican and traditional American Cuisine. Here is a review without pictures. The town of Carey does not have alot of culinary choices as far as dining. The only known review on Tripadvisor was for the Carey Cafe which is now closed. However, if you do have the chance to pass through this small country town and if you're hungry for dinner, don't pass up this excellent little find. We visited the restaurant after being advised by our friend from Tiffin on our way back to Columbus. The property has that small town feel, full and comfortable bar with flatscreens and sports, excellent seating options with white table clothes with cozy chairs with clean and private bathrooms for men and ladies. They even have ample space for small banquets, as the building is the old general post office. The part owner/chef Angel is very friendly, and the staff is outstanding. The menu features a good mixed variety of Mexican and traditional American dishes, the food is excellent, but the prices were so low I thought I was in South America! Five dollars for a vodka martini and $11.95 for a New York with a baked potato and veggies! You have to be kidding! We had the pasta puttanesca with shrimp and it was superb. A garlic mushroom appetizer with an excellent white wine and the entire bill for my wife and I was less than a 10 oz. Filet in New York, Chicago or Los Angeles with the sides. Don't miss this "out of the way" winner when passing through this rural area of Ohio. Ask for Angel and he'll make it memorable.Cheers,Rohbogen
