A quick lunch stop on the way home to Adelaide. Food was good, mine was a stirfry and hubby had fish with chips. Both dishes were brought out in a timely fashion. We felt that the prices of our meals which were over $25 was a little excessive for what we received.

This review is for Oscars Bistro only situated within the motel complex. As guests of the motel we decided to cross the forecourt and try their bistro. The menu was extensive and staff very pleasant. My husband ordered the Black Pork Curry which was $26 and said it was authentic. He enjoyed it with a $10 can of Guinness. I love lamb so the moment I saw grilled lamb chops on the board, I was sold. Bad move, they were terrible! It’s very rare for me to leave a bad review but these chops were virtually inedible. Well I suppose there were a couple of mouthfuls that were okay and I am not exaggerating here. Absolutely awful! When I’ve ordered lamb chops elsewhere, they are loin chops NOT BBQ chops or they maybe called chump chops. This cut is usually used in stews, slow cooked or perhaps on the BBQ. They are not grilled! Tough, sinewy and just altogether horrible. They were $28 and came with mashed potato and gravy, both of which were nice. Definitely not worth the price. On handing my almost full plate to the person clearing the table, I voiced my opinion and was told he would mention it to the chef. I also told the person at the till. Same response. Not impressed at all!

We didn’t stay in the hotel but dined here one night. It was a cold night but the fire was going and the atmosphere was great, even though the patronage was limited due to COVID-19. Very good food. One of our number had a pizza and it was huge - could only manage half, but was provided with a container for the leftovers. Friendly staff and prompt service. Will definitely return.

Nothing out of the ordinary. A clean and tidy pub that seemed to operate efficiently and with friendly smiles but it really just did what it neede to and there was nothing that set it aside from any other pub really. And sadly the chips were pretty cold and unattractive on the plate with no crunch at all. A pub needs to be able to get chips right, right!?

Very good accomodation at the $120 price point. Appears freshly renovated and equipped to a standard well above the price point including nespresso machine. Located in the centre of town with plenty to see and do within walking distance.
We chose to have dinner in the hotel dining room which was comfortable and somewhat club style. The meals were excellent with ample choices above the pub grub standards. Great to dine and walk home - no need to count the drinks! Great night out for a reasonable price.

Well below par for a Revive the Riverland destination. Room small, no ventilation, bar fridge roars into life every 20 minutes and illuminates the room with bright blue lights. Some products in the fridge past their use by, pillows on the "king" bed (2 single divans pushed together) hard and high, all 5 of them. Parts of the floor creaky and actually unsafe feeling. No view to speak of considering the price.
Won't even mention the very average food in the "dining room". Just don't go there!

Popped in for dinner after recommendation from locals. No problem being seated quickly and dinner came out quickly too. Meals were great and service was excellent. Great place for families with a large dining room.

Excellent place to stay and enjoy a meal. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Highly recommended for everyone.
Rooms are kept tidy, clean and quiet. Will definitely stay again

GOOD MENU VARIETY- meals were plentiful, good quality and reasonabily priced. Plenty of diners, so seemed a popular venue

We were there for a 60th birthday lunch with a large group.
The meals were fantastic, the decorations and menu were colour coordinated by the staff. we would eat there again.

My meal was absolutely disgusting and my husbands scotch fillet steak was not medium rare I used my husbands gravy to give my beef kormaa bit if juice it was dry as and the meat in it I had to cut it up to bite size pieces will never go there again.🤬

Popped in on a Saturday lunchtime.... good service.... really nicely furnished.... TV's on every wall so wherever you sit you can see the game or music videos.... Clean bathrooms.... didn't order food but menu had all the pub favourites.

A day drive meant we ended up in Waikerie on New Years Day. Our intention was to get takeaway and sit on the riverfront & use the playground, but found nothing open in except for the Pub only. We didnt really want to have lunch at the pub, but had no other option!
Yes, we should of phoned ahead, but thats pointless when you only have about 5 minutes to make a decision with no takeaway open.
When we walked in, there were people everywhere, and staff, no-where!!!! We waited for approx 20 minutes before the lovely (stressed) lady was able to actually leave the order till, to clean away a previous table, re-set and then seat us. By thi s stage, our two young kids found the i-pad station which became a life saver for their attention span!
There wasnt all much to choose from. The menu seems very limited & generic. We just decided since we just needed to eat & continue sight seeing that we would just go with the basic and order 4 schnitzels. To order was another 20 minutes with the line up of people doing the same, but also the same young lady also having to do everything else (tables, drinks, orders) with no help in sight! When i finally got to the front of the line, she was stressed & overhwhelmed, but kept her cool, and was professional that she can be idenitifed as an asset to the establishment. She deserves a pat on the back!
Another girl, obvioulsy finished her break, then came into the glass filled sinks in the bar where she made that a priority before helping her fellow work mate or serving customers. Again, i waited patiently for another 10 mins before finally being served, with every glass of wine on the menu either ran out or not cold?!? So, soft drink it was.....
Schnitzels arrived at the table, even before i was served for drinks, so my husband & kids stated eating. When i finally jooined them, it was not enjoyable! 4 cardboard schnitzels with the majority of the Mr McGregors garden salad overtaking the plate.
Being a Public holiday, we were also slugged with a surcharge!! Considering most surcharges are incurred to assist with the wages/penalty rates of staff, they certainly should of had more staff on!! $100+ for an experience that should have been so much more!
Disspointing! We may return if we are in the area again, but certainly will be weary of future endeavours.

Ate here on two nights and received an excellent meal and good service on both nights - be sure to try the pork dumpling entree, wow.

This dining room was superbly furnished with good spacing between tables and good variety on the menu. Our only complaint was that we had to wait over 30 minutes for our meal and there were not so many in the dining room to make this seem necessary
