Our Dinner on 18th/June/2021 was absolutely sensational. All our meals were cooked as ordered, delicious and fresh, and served very quickly. The cosy dining area was comfortable and staff were friendly and helpful with suggestions for food and drinks to match.

A revisit to Peterborough and the towns Railway Hotel for an evening meal. Unfortunately the place is changing with a lot of staff left and leaving, the cook (Who was an excellent cook) bar staff and drive through staff have gone.
I ordered Thai Green Curry on Rice....well it's the worst meal I've had there, It was not hot with curry flavour, the meat went cold and the rice...well what a mess, it was out of a kitchen container and as hard as concrete. Yes I should have complained but I wanted a feed.
Looking forward to the new owners to arrive which hopefully is not far away.

My wife and I popped in for lunch. There is a menu of typical pub grub. I ordered bangers and mash and my wife roast beef.
They were great, not your typical pub grub. The bangers were meaty and huge. The mash was perfect. The gravy was delicious. It came with a side salad and hot bread roll. My wife’s beef was equally delicious. The meals were so generous that we could not eat dinner. The taste was so good we could not stop eating.

The staff were welcoming and professional, we experienced great service. The menu featured all the usual old country pub fare, combined we had the lamb shank, rissoles and mixed grill. All of them were great. We would happily come back. The pub itself is full of old Australian charm, really a gem.

No great ambience in the bistro but staff were lovely and its a a beautiful old hotel built in the incredible heyday of Peterborough. Fabulous lamb shank and I had a very tasty beer on tap I was unfamiliar with (cant remember name unfortunately). Some of their "famous" dishes like the pie were sold out. Excellent dinner before we headed out for the Sound and Light show at the Heritage Steam Centre.

This was once one of the best hotels for meals, but since the Black
Rhino Group purchased it the meals have gone backwards. Meals are not like they used to be, they have gone small and sometimes on the cold side. The Pizzas toppings has been halved and at times no bread rolls.
They only have 3 salads in the salad bar and are the same each Friday night. Pasta, Rabbit tucker (They call it garden greens YUK!!) and Coleslaw, if your lucky there might be a bowl of Beetroot.
According to some patrons some are going to other venues for better meals. People are saying the BRG are only interested is selling Alcohol and Poker machines, rather disappointing.
The bar staff, waiters are all great people to deal with and a chat.

Our initial impression was good, old decor but country pub so expect that. I ordered pork belly. Yummo! My partner ordered barramundi curry n coconut. It was what I call a housewife's curry. Full of chunks of carrots and green beans which had not been top n tailed so had to "spit out" stalks. No curry flavour at all. Hence my reference of housewife's curry. Suitable for kids. Very little fish and served over the rice. Both meals also came with salad but NO DRESSING! Later while playing poker machines, there were many break downs and when I reported one on a machine I was playing, I was informed very abruptly that the lass behind the bar, Lucy, was very busy cleaning after lunch and I should have rung the bell in the poker room, instead of disturbing her. Then she realized there was no bell. She then very rudely told me I should have just waited at the counter and eventually I was be seen. Needless to say, as soon as the problem was fixed, I removed my money and we left. I don't care how busy you are, it is not my problem and I resent being spoken down to. We put a lot if money cm into the pub, but not again.!

Nice place. A sports venue where you can watch events on TV. lunch, a good 300 g entrecôte. and salt and pepper prawns with a cream sauce that personally never excites me. several steamed side dishes and a good beer

#. Lovely pub in great town.
#. 7/8 meals delivered to group.
#. 1 meal took 75 minutes to deliver some 20 minutes after the rest of the group had eaten.
#. No apology for the delay
#. Meal dropped on table in front of patron
#. Shift manager spoken to who was understanding, apologised and provided a gratuity to the groups for the issue.
#. MOST distressing was a staff member disrespecting the managers decision and discussing the whole issue with another patron in front of several other visitors disrespecting the group.
A lovely town to visit. A beautiful pub to visit but be mindful of the overworked staff who behave inappropriately.

We had lunch at the railway hotel on a 30c day. Our meals were the lamb shank with mash & salad and porterhouse steak with chips & salad. Both meals were of excellent quality - the lamb fell off the shank, the porterhouse was tender & flavoursome, the chips were morish & well cooked.

Had a lovely dinner here. Friendly staff a wonderful dining room. Not a lot a veg options but the pasta I ordered was delicious my husband had the shank and enjoyed it as well. Love seeing these old buildings being looked after a credit to the town. Highly recommend for a meal.

This is one of the best pubs in Peterborough for a drink, for food, and for friendly staff. Can't knock these guys. They go out of their way for good service - and the Macka's rissoles and mash is great! Love their food and respect their service. 10 out of 10.

What more can I say? These guys are the greatest for service and food. I often visit and the lunches and dinner are the best. The service is always exceptional. They all care about the customers. I 100% recommend the pub, the food and the staff. Well worth a visit. My fave meal is the chicken parmajana. (sp??)

Very VERY Basic pub food 2/10...
Fried (packet) Vegi Burger...basic (cold) vegies on the side and chips for approx $19 .how easy is it to create authentic vegie burgers in a 'country pub' kitchen really!!🤔
