Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Only had a few drinks here as the kitchen is currently closed due to staff shortages. Very efficient and friendly service with a good selection of drinks. Locals very accepting of visitors joining in conversation.

New in town, I visited to buy a nice bottle of red for dinner back in the caravan park. I was quietly surprised by the place. The new owner is currently doing renos and the place is looking good with intimate little bars for meeting up and having a beer or whatever you fancy. The next door eatery, Harts provides all the meals for the hotel. Good prices on bottle sales, meals and also accommodation. Check out the beautiful mirror in the front bar and in the next bar with the musical notes - you don't see mirrors like that any more. A splendid example of a bygone era.

Had lunch here twice, both times we had a pint and shared a bowl of chips. I wouldn't say they were the best chips I have tried but were very close to it. Freshly cooked at the adjoining cafe where you order them, they arebrought through to you at the bar. Other foods are also available.

I had planned a couple of nights stay at Peterborough, South Australia and booked to have dinner at Peterborough Hotel/Motel. When we turned up, the place was completely closed so no dinner. Luckily the nearby fish/chip was open

This antiquated old pub in the middle of this sweet little town is the ideal place for the wondering traveler. The new owners are fixated on every detail, and the renovations show it. I haven’t found such a quality stay for as little as $40 per week in my travels before. Top notch pub 9/10 (the renovations aren’t quite done yet, otherwise it would be a 10/10 for me).

Went to this hotel for an evening meal and the dinning room was closed so had to go into a small room where there were only enough chairs for around 20 people. The room was also next to the small cafe where we had to put up with the smell from the kitchen and all the people coming into the cafe for their fish and chips etc. The waitress could have been dressed a lot neater and when she put my cutlery on the table she put them by the knife edge and the fork by the prongs !! Wifes meal was great but my fish was covered by far too much garlic sauce and spoiled the flavour of the fish, and the prawns were covered the same way and again no flavour from them. Will we go back again ? definitely not.

Can't go wrong with a $40 room for the night and a Snitizal that won't fit on your plate ($15). Owner quite obliging as well.

It was $60 a room and the meals were enormous and well made Good old fashioned hotel But clean and well serviced Helpful staff pointed out where to go see and doo I can vouch for the difference a place makes when the locals take an interest in promoting where they live They have a passion the BackPackers don.t have

We all ordered the roast as we were told at the caravan park that Wednesday was roast night, not that it was on the menu or there were any signs to indicate that there was a roast available. The roast was large, beef , thick slices , roast veges and cauliflower bake and scalloped potatoes in a side dish. Shame our meals were not far of being cold.

Title straight from my notes and a typical country pub feed in my opinion ! We had a lot during our 2 week road trip and this one was at the top of the list. We both had the Roast Dinner, I the beef , my mate the Chicken and well priced. Both meals came with full vegies and a lovely take on cabbage/cauliflower and we struggled to finish. A really good choice in Town and part of a Cafe attached to the Pub, recommended for sure.

Popped in here on the off chance and were pleasantly surprised both with the range of food & the quality. Includes $3 salad bowl option. The pub kitchen also serves as a takeaway cafe with a main street entrance which is open long hours/all day

We visited this hotel for lunch recently and found very few people eating there. We chose the Thai chicken with onion rings from the daily specials board. The lady serving was polite and friendly. The meal came in reasonable time. It consisted of 3 chicken drumsticks sprinkled with some spices and some deep fried onion rings. We were also able to have a pot of salad from the salad bar. Calling this dish Thai chicken was a bit of an insult to real Thai food. The salad was nothing special. Overall the meal was average and not great value at $13.00 a head. I would try another venue next time I visit.
