We were a group of 5, and all meals were delicious and well presented. The slow cooked okey lamb was so yummy!! Also cocktails were great. The coffee at end of the night was a bit of a letdown but that is the only low...point in an otherwise great experience. Was very surprised and pleased.More
Thank you TrickyTrave, we appreciate your feedback and are so glad you enjoyed your meals and cocktails. Sorry to hear the Coffee was a letdown, can I ask specifically what you didn't enjoy about it so we can endeavour to improve in the future?
Our meal of fish was Coorong mullet...and lentils...yes dear Young Ones fans... lentils and 3 leaves of rocket. $33 .Yes the lentils were well cooked and the petite mullet was local . The other special of roast pork was only $26...but very tired...been sitting in...Baine Marie too long... disappointed. Service was excellent.More
Hello Richard, I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your meals recently. Our Chef’s philosophy is to start with the highest quality ingredients, not to overcomplicate them and present delicious dishes where the produce speaks for itself. The Coorong Mullet special showcased quite a few local producers,...More
The Barker Hotel is located in the Main Street of Mount Barker. It’s a modern and well appointed hotel, with excellent facilities whether for dining or meeting with friends. The dining room is light, airy and spacious, and the food and service is excellent. The...focus of the menu is traditional pub fare, together with well priced daily specials. In winter, there are welcoming open fireplaces in various parts of the venue. If you’re in the area, this is a good place to visit!More
Thank you for your kind review. We are so glad you enjoyed your visit.
Lovely friendly staff and clean facilities, had a sirloin steak which was cooked nicely. The potato galette wasn’t too nice but overall a nice meal.
Nice modern and clean venue. Friendly waitresses. Our table order burgers and schnitzels. Great value for money. Definitely enjoyed the chicken parmi and the salad was super fresh. Especially loved the dressing. Large restaurant with booths. Acoustics perfect too.
Hands down the best 'pub feed' I've had. Beef schnitzel for myself and pork schnitzel for my wife were far more than we expected from a rural pub on all fronts. Decent wine list, great food, and just as importantly really friendly and fun staff....A touch out of our usual way but we have friends who live in mt barker and will be making it a point to get a meal there again next time we're in Adelaide. Couldn't fault it.More
My wife and I moved tables soon after we sat down to escape the cold. However the whole restaurant was cold. We asked if the air conditioning was on and were told that they would get back to us. They did not. We asked another...person why it was so cold. She replied that the heating was off because one person said they were warm. We were appalled when she told us we could go into another area near the bar and betting. We were eating our food by then and chose to stay put. Our other option was to wait until the hot person left at which time the heat could be turned on. Needless to say, we did not order desert. When leaving we complained only to be told repeatedly, 'im sorry you feel that way' as if it was us who had the problem. We wondered if there was a person complaining that they were hot or whether the whole situation was contrived to save on power. We will not go back.More
We spent about $150 in 3 adults, when a piece of bread was asked for to amuse a one year old, we were told repeatedly, look at the menu!! It was impossible to receive just a piece of bread, not a very family friendly place
Our family birthday celebration was made special by the staff, very attentive and the meals were fantastic, as was the selection of premium South Australian wines.
Friendly staff, very helpful. We were hoping to settle in with entree and main. Halfway through entree the kitchen asked waiter to check if we were ready for mains? Rushed through meals, bit disappointing. Food was okay, chicken burger was mostly batter. Have been to...the barker before and it has been good so maybe just a bad night.More
Great food, the vegan options were surprisingly good (not the usual burger). The food was well above normal pub standard
During my first week in beautiful Mount Barker, I decided to try Sunday lunch at The Barker Hotel. What a fantastic decision that was. I chose roast pork with all the trimmings, and every bite was delicious. The pork was cooked to perfection, with lots...of crackling to enjoy. The vegetables were perfect too. I had to take my Lemon Delicious dessert home with me as I simply could not fit it in. This was a favourite family dessert of mine when growing up, and it was just as good as Mum’s. I can highly recommend this meal to everyone.More
Food and service was excellent. I had the chicken burger was amazing and my partner had some Kilpatrick oysters to start and steak that was cooked perfect. Highly recommend and will be back soon
Had dinner at the Barker hotel. The meals were below average. Despite the general lack of flavour and ambience! I was un happy because I asked for my burger rare and stressed that I would order something else if it could not be done. They...checked with the Cheff and reassured me that rare would be ok. When the meals arrived My husbands surf and turf had over cooked, soggy prawns and my burger was served well done. Only reason for giving two stars is the friendly staff. Would only return for drinks and pool.More
