We went in a group of fourteen for Sunday lunch. The menu was disappointing and very restrictive especially for non meat eaters. I had a bowl of brocolini with salsa verde as my main and it was very over cooked. My husbands pork was uninspiring. WOuld I go again, answer is no. SOme of the party enjoyed the wine tasting pre... Friends & us decided to find a nice place for lunch to use our entertainment book somewhere in the vales. Hadn't been to Woodstock for a few years so this was the choice. Greeting was nice and shown to our table on the Mezzanine. Our waitress was attentive, chatty and helpful. Settled in with Goodiesons beer, he did same, the... More

This $35 a head Friday night pizza meal was dreadful. Unpolished staff served a bland and tasteless meal. As a Mclaren vale local I felt embarrassed to think that the other guests had been presented with such poor food. We are a region with supposedly great food and wine. You need to up your game Woodstock!

As a group of 4 we dined for Easter Sunday lunch. The place was about 3/4 full and I have to assume most tables were pre-booked given it was a public holiday lunch time and most were groups but it seemed we were a complete surprise to the staff. We waited about 15 minutes before we saw a menu, another... More

Looking forward to a great lunch today, beautiful location, bit crazy with wine tastings loud bus tours arriving. My husband and I had the 2 person shared roast chicken. Sounded great but sadly disappointed. Tiny serve for a ( 2 person) share. 2 little drumsticks and 4 little very dry breast portions. Served with roasted duck fat potato. Potato had... More

We (13 of us) were late for 12:30 booking due to road works holding us up. Phoned ahead to advise same and got there as quickly as we could. Unfortunately Woodstock had a wedding that afternoon/evening which took their attention from us. Seemed like we were an inconvenience and the meal felt very rushed. We asked for coffee and desert... Went for lunch with the girls. It was raining and felt like we were looking out at a stunning rainforest. Brilliant service, yummy food… If you like Rosé you MUST try the Woodstock Grenache Rosé… My goodness, delicious! No vegan options, just a heads-up to those who are.

This is a lovely winery, in a very attractive setting. The restaurant has large windows looking out to well tended gardens and native trees. Our group was booked for lunch and we ordered so as to try almost all options on the menu. The menu is small and high end pricing for Adelaide, so we had high hopes. Much of... More

We went a week ago for a spontaneous lunch. The winery restaurant is lovely and the service I have to say was very good. We had a nice spot outside and ordered our meals. The fish was well done and enjoyable however the tortelliini dish which came out as a mains was exceptionally sparse. At $32 a plate with 3... More

Attended for a long lunch and enjoyment of a winery that is still family owned in a fantastic setting. We ordered entree which consisted of one small baby octopus 2 shelled small mussels and two very small arancini balls for $24.00 placed in the centre of one very big plate. (We actually did a double take on its arrival at... More

Description
Woodstock Coterie, built in 1988, was designed to nestle among the towering century old gum trees. The design took into consideration the location of each of these amazing native trees. Not one significant tree was cut down to accommodate building the restaurant. Hence, the Coterie's unique semicircle shape. Rammed earth walls encase the dining area, providing a warm feel and at the same time complementing The Coterie's unique quintessentially Australian landscape. Glass doors and windows frame the lush native gardens creating an atrium feel for the discerning patron. Upstairs there is a mezzanine level available for private tastings, conferences and functions. The name 'Coterie' was chosen for the word's meaning; the gathering of a group of people, or rather a circle of friends, for a specific purpose... that for us includes great food, good company and finest wines at Woodstock
