We had a lovely, surprising and refreshing meal here. The food was local, fresh and worth it. The atmosphere and ambiance was relaxed, fresh and welcoming. Would highly recommend.

Lovely dinner with great service. We booked a couple of weeks in advance for our trip to Mclaren Vale. A week prior to our arrival things had changed a bit in South Australia with new COVID regulations starting. I got a call from the restaurant...to change the time of the booking and to ensure we were still coming, all very friendly. On the evening, we had a lovely waitress and the food was delicious. She gave us good advice on the menu and on how much to order. We were lucky we took the 6pm reservation as after this the restaurant got super busy. We enjoyed a lovely dinner and were able to stay on after our allocated time which was super nice. I would recommend this restaurant and on our next visit to McLaren Vale we will be back.More

The Salopian Inn team, with special thanks to Morgan and Jo, did a fantastic job making our sons pre-wedding celebration lunch (with 18 guests) a memorable day. Everyone enjoyed themselves and were very impressed with the room, the absolutely delicious food, the wines and the...excellent service. Even the outdoor courtyard area proved a perfect location for our group photo. The fact that we could take our time throughout the afternoon, and savour the special moment together, was highly appreciated. Everything exceeded our expectations as well as the expectations of our family and guests who were full of compliments and praise for the choice of location. We will be back!!More

Visited midweek for a 2pm lunch. Very busy with many summer holiday tourists and a few locals. Seemed a little under staffed so first drink service took a while. Ordered entrees at this time. Then drinks came out, entree and bread. This could have been...spaced out with bread and drinks first then entree. We ordered for entree 6 steamed buns, prawn dumplings, polenta and mozzarella salad and kingfish fritters. The kingfish entree - 2 styles on the menu - it wasn’t too clear that the kingfish was a fritter, nice but just not clear. Steamed buns were delicious as were the dumplings. The entrees were quite large in portion size. We opted to wait on ordering mains at the start and were pleased with this decision. It gave us time to stop and chat and digest the entrees. For mains we shared the char sui pork which was very nice, the pork cooked perfectly and nicely charred. We chose gins for drinks rather than wine however the wine list was extensive as was the gin list. Service was good, food was good - but the food came out too quickly. Noisy tables and acoustics near the kitchen / bar area. Not a place for a quiet romantic lunch but rather lunch with friends or family. The food was modern Asian in parts and typical Australian farm produce.More

Lovely food, with fresh produce and bright flavours. Mod Oz with a mix of European and Asian elements and everything was delicious. Cozy indoor set up and excellent service.
