We wanted to enjoy an afternoon coffee before heading back to Adelaide. Oscars was adjacent our bus and seemed a likely place. Staff friendly on entry, order taken for two cappuccinos and we were shown to a table while they were being prepared. Not sure why or where it went wrong from there. After about 15 minutes we were served two espressos, explained that they were not ours. Staff checked and acknowledged the error. Then we waited again and after some time we were advised that we would get the coffee free due to the lengthy wait. I requested two take-aways at this stage as our bus was about to depart. These were quickly available and I paid the charge of $8 although I could have taken advantage of the free offer. There seemed to be more than adequate staff for the amount of patrons present. Great location and great looking premises.

We settled with Oscars for a family anniversary celebration. Unluckily the largest and noisiest table was closest to ours. Business looked good, there were plenty of staff, but those workers didn’t seem overly busy at all. So the hour long wait for our main courses was unwarranted.
Food was reasonably priced and the pizzas were nice even though it was difficult to cut through the tough crust base with a knife. I found it best to use hands for eating pizza at this establishment. Follow-up service for deserts and coffee arrived very slowly and well after the meal plates had been cleared. I’d rate our visit as OK or average and would be looking for improvements in service at a future visit.

We had dinner at Oscars on our recent stopover in McLaren Vale. This restaurant was recommended to us by a staff member at Leconfield Winery. Not a lot is open in McLaren Vale on a Tuesday night but Oscars was and as advised has a special steak night on Tuesdays. The steak and the Thai Chicken Pizza were divine. We were lucky to get a table without a booking even though we arrived early and when we left there were people prepared to wait for a table. We found the staff to be friendly. The only comment I would make is that in the screened outdoor area where we sat it really did need a blower vac and a bit of a clean. This wouldn't take long. This restaurant rightly has a great reputation for it's food and reasonably priced. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.

We booked for a 5:30 - 7pm sitting tonight I have dietary needs and there were a few dishes not available which is to be expected but we finally ordered simple meals one being a pizza. It took 45 minutes for our meals to arrive while we watched others who come in after us receive theirs before us. We asked the waitress what was taking so long and the response was that they were busy with takeaways!!?? What just our meal was impacted? She then said they had extended our sitting by 30 minutes. This information was only offered up after we complained about the wait. There was no real apology nothing. Not returning.

My wife and I plus our adult family and grand kids, all 10 of us, had had a very plesant lunch at Oscars yesterday the 16/2/2020. The decor is is clean and tidy weather you choose to dine inside or outside, the food is of good quality and are of a generous size with a large menu to choose from. The prices are on par with the industry standards. Over all a very pleasant place to have lunch on a Sunday afternoon

A friend chose this restaurant and what a good choice. Had trouble getting in due to strange door that slide up😂.. but a waitress saw us struggling and came to help.
We had a waiter called Steve who was brilliant he was funny, charming and attentive yet didn’t hassle us when ordering or eating.
We ordered the pear and cheese flat bread to start, which was enough for 2 pieces for all 4 of us.. while we ate that we pondered on the menu for main meal. I had the steak ($32) which was cooked to my likening, duck fat potatoes that were crispy on the outside & fluffy inside, veg & jus. For dessert I opted for a Florentine. Lovely glass of rose served chilled.
Us 4 old ducks had a really good time, with great food, excellent service and not that expensive.. booking again very soon

We went in for a quick pizza. After about 15 minutes we went looking for a wait person to order a drink. We ordered our pizzas at the same time. We never saw anyone for another 30 minutes plus. Too bad if we wanted another drink! After about an hour we asked if our pizzas were going to be much longer and were told ‘It usually takes at least half an hour here!’ No point in complaining about the service because there isn’t any! Luckily the pizzas, when they finally arrived, were very nice. Needless to say, no tip from us!

We were on holiday and meeting friends here who live locally and they chose the restaurant. Four of us had pizzas and one had a salad but we all enjoyed our food. We couldn't eat all our pizza so came home with a doggy bag. We arrived early but were still led to our table and we sat and had a wine waiting for our friends. We sat around eating, drinking and talking for three hours and it was very pleasant but what I was most impressed with was the service, the staff were all very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. We were very impressed with our waitress who took our five orders without writing anything down and all of us had special requirements and she remembered everything. Highly recommended.

Situated on Main St with off street parking Oscar’s has both indoor and outdoor seating. Service was attentive and food was tasty and substantial. Good selection of wine and beer from local breweries. We tried the beef scallopini with duck fat potatoes and the lamb shank slow cooked in tomato. Both delicious.

Excellent fast polite staff. Absolutely top notch!
Visited twice in 8 days it’s so good.
Food excellent , value for money .
fathers Day menu was great & serves were too much for us , but our spoilt pooches will enjoy the “ doggy bag”

Food was awful. We ordered the rosemary and thyme flatbread, it came out looking like burnt pizza. We sent it back to the kitchen saying it was so burnt we were not prepared to eat it. There was no apology and we had waited at least 20 mins for it to arrive. We eventually had the replacement for the flatbread which was much better. We ordered three main meals; fish and chips was asked to be grilled instead of fried but were told ‘no’ we cannot do that. When the fish and chips arrived they were clearly overcooked, the chips had been refried more than once and the fish was overcooked. The second meal was Tuscan penne pasta but when it arrived the pasta was spirals and the pumpkin was undercooked, it was not a nice meal. The third dish we ordered was Caesar salad which again was of poor standard, the dish was mainly greens with a tiny egg, there was no Parmesan cheese evident or served at the table. When we left there was no acknowledgment of the issue with the flat bread and no apology. We will not be returning to Oscars anytime soon. Very disappointing all round.

For a family lunch this suited us well. A real surprise was the pear bread which came in the form of a pizza with a balsamic glaze and was delicious! All meals were tasty and generous serves. Would go back.

Shared a beautiful Birthday lunch with family at Oscars. I had the perfectly cooked Sirloin with bean, carrots and broccolini with duck fat roast potatoes and red jus. Steak cooked as ordered and veggies still al dente. 2 had fish n chips, fish was lovely and the chips were scrumptious with a seasoning on them. Mum had the salmon which was cooked to perfection and the salad was divine. We all shared the cheese and garlic flatbread which was delicious 🤤
The customer service was outstanding from the lovely young lady welcoming us to the ongoing service throughout lunch. Brilliant. Highly recommend Oscars and we will definitely be back. 5 🌟

A very busy (Tuesday) so most restaurants are closed in McClaren Vale. We ordered a pizza and vegetarian pasta. It was barely quality of food court pizza or pasta. We knew we should have left when where told one cannot removed ingredients from pasta as it is not hand made.
Our recommendation is that if you have to eat in the region on Tuesday when very little is open is to go to Adelaide, otherwise chose another restaurant in wine country. We have spend 3 weeks in Australia/ first disappointing meal at any price

We visited Oscar's and selected the pizza. The dough was extremely good. The chef offers multiple with some unusual combinations. All are good and prepared in a pizza oven. The pizza was tasty. The staff was friendly and helpful. Not over priced.
