Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I guess we should have realised by the name, but the noise level was too much for us, you could barely hear yourself think. They were super busy and seemed to be understaffed as the service was very slow. The food looked good, but we opted to not order food as it took 40 minutes to get a coffee from when we arrived, we were over it by then

Had a Sunday free from other commitments so decided to go out for breakfast. Hadn't visited the Tin Shed for a while but clearly other people had. It was packed with loads of tables booked but we were able to find a table by the window. Breakfast was ordered at the counter and despite how busy the cafe was the food arrived within a reasonable time frame. It was delicious, just as I remembered it. Staff are friendly and professional and they are happy to take dietary needs into account. The only negative is how incredibly noisy it is inside.

We haven't been to McLaren Vale much so was a bit cautious of the offerings for a Monday lunch trade. ? I have to say that we were pleasantly surprised with the 'Tin Shed' ! There was only one person serving when we entered & the venue was starting to build with the lunch time trade but he handled every customer effortlessly & with a calming nature. The menu is your basic lunch spread, but the meals that we had were done very well !! Caesar salad with chicken & the fried chicken strips were old skool but definitely satisfying & refreshing at the same time! Would definitely recommend & definitely return when passing through next time, Well done guys !

We didn’t have a booking, but easily snared a table outside, our preferred option. My husband ordered The Works - a full breakfast and I had the vegetarian version of it. When ordering, I wasn’t sure of the possibility to exchange bacon & sausage for non-meat alternatives, however was offered the ‘vego works’ with sautéed spinach & avocado just as I would have liked. Perfect coffee & tea, would absolutely go back. Fantastic, personal & friendly service, clean amenities.

We went for breakfast in the covered outdoor area of the Tin Shed on morning of New Year’s Eve. Many reviews comment that the indoor area is extremely noisy but the outdoor area can be somewhat noisy as well. The menu advised us to quote our table number when ordering but that was completely ignored. Instead our name was attached to the order which proved much less efficient than delivering orders to a numbered table. Our order of bacon and eggs was tasty but the rather poorly toasted bread base was quite tough and difficult to cut with a knife. Our breakfast order arrived in a timely manner but the soft drink didn’t arrive until some 20 minutes later, despite staff being fully aware our order was incomplete. Is it really so difficult to include a soft drink at the time a breakfast order is delivered? Any good business will take note of customer reviews and suggestions so we’ll check whether there are any improvements or changes at our next visit.

We hid in the Tin Shed during a brief but well received rain...and so glad we did. The open plan Tin Shed houses both interesting art, as well as various travel books to what your appetite...but it's the food that is the beacon. From a simple toastie with wonderful local produce, or a pizza, or burger, all supported by chips, it all looked and tasted so good. Service was quick and smiley, and the Pass showed us the meals we want to order. A great Secret that I will tell everyone about.

Went for breakfast three times and lunch once. Best bacon I have had for a long time. Proper smoked bacon full of flavor and cooked properly, not broiled like most bacon you get nowadays.

First time I have been here, lots of room and there were many tables full. Had the most delicious late breakfast with family members. Highly recommend going here. You could tell others eating here were also happy and there was a large table celebrating a Birthday.

There’s not a lot of frills to the decor, and it can get very noisy, but we enjoyed our lunch- my two friends had seafood pizza, which they really liked, and I had the garden salad with grilled haloumi ; the salad had cherry tomatoes, baby spinach, rocket and another type of lettuce, cucumber and olives and red onion, with a very nice balsamic vinegar dressing. The food arrived promptly and we had a really good Pirramirra Pinot Rose with it. Service was good and all in all it was good value for money.

Our first time visiting The Tin Shed Cafe and we arrived one hour before they were due to close on this Monday Public Holiday. Completely full so we waited a couple of minutes while they wiped down a table for us. My pizza was absolutely delicious, heaps of toppings and great amount of cheese. I shared it with my partner who ordered the Seafood Combo which was a smaller serving for him but very tasty and consisted of beer battered fish, crumbed squid, chips and salad. First time but won’t be the last, great place to eat if you’re looking for a decent meal in McLaren Vale.

This place was incredibly comfortable with attentive, friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We came in two mornings in a row while staying in McLaren Vale. The breakfasts were delicious, the coffee was the best and the older gentleman who waited on us was a delight. We’d definitely go back if we are ever down that way again.

Fabulous breakfasts and everything fresh. Good bread. We were there for a couple of mornings and one morning we asked if they could do just toast and Vegemite and straight away they said no problems. The staff are friendly , nothing was a trouble and the food is delivered really fast. I would definitely recommend going there for a meal.

We went to McLaren Vale for an impromptu light lunch, and decided on the Tin Shed on the Main Rd. A little noisy, but guess thats expected with family celebrations happening. Food was excellent! We had the Caesar salad with chicken and Bruschetta with smoked salmon. Both enjoyed our meals, my bruschetta was a huge serving with masses of salmon- bliss! Very friendly staff and we weren’t rushed. I got food envy watching some of the plated food go past… will have to return to test them out!

On our first morning in McLaren Vale we decided to have breakfast here. Enjoyed the poached eggs and coffee so much we came back the next day. On our last day we had lunch with a large group - menu had a wide choice of meals. Good quality food, quick & efficient service. Staff always friendly.
