I’ve just moved to SA and the McLaren Vale region after 25 years in Tas - some might also consider that a culinary capital in terms of fresh produce. I’ve been working my way around all the well reviewed restaurants in the area pretty systematically...and nothing compares with this. I’m eating again there this week so will report back but it gets 5 stars from me on every small detail. Service not just impeccable but lovely and friendly and responsive. Atmosphere superb in the middle of garden/orchard/winery. Food perfectly presented and cooked. No wilting greens or sad overcooked duck. And small treats that really enliven the senses (and wallet) like free home baked bread and home made butter with home soaked cabernet salt crystals. And a free taster! Haven’t had that in SA since I arrived and ate at Hardy’s Verandah (another taste and hospitality sensation). This place deserves 5 Michelin stars in my view!More
