Established in 2016. Vera : true pizza. Neapolitan style. Thin with a soft airy crust. Made by hand the traditional way. No rolling pins. Pizza : Fired in our wood oven made by the famous Stefano Ferrara in Napoli, Italy. The birthplace of Vera pizza. Oztalia : We continue to evolve from when our family first arrived to Australia from Italy. We use the techniques passed down from generation to generation with locally sourced South Australian ingredients. We are proud of this. Our sugo is made by the hands of the family, using South AustralianVirginia grown tomatoes. More than pizza: The Mitolo family came to South Australia from the Italian region of Abruzzo. Famous for Arrosticini. These skewers of lamb are cooked simply over charcoal. Meat deserves charcoal and salt. That is all.

Best pizza in one of the best locations In all of SA. You want fire ? Then order the Diablo.. Great staff , great venue and great food. Always busy but very quick and attentive service. My only negative is above 8 people a set menu is your only option. I would still think if people wanted 8 pizzas the value to the business with drinks is still a good income for a days service.

Fantastic food and drinks, but we felt very rushed. We ordered a starter within 5 minutes of sitting down, and then whilst the starter was out we were also pressured to order our mains/pizza. Pizza came out before the starter was finished, and we felt a little pressured to be in and out in an hour.

As always the service was amazing. We started with the arancini and burrata. Absolutely delicious! However, we were so disappointed with our pizza. The Salami, Bianca and Margarita, all 3 were limp and soggy like they were taken out the oven too soon. So umder cooked. We couldn't even pick up a slice or cut it with a knife without it all collapsing on the plate. You go to Pizzateca for the pizza and we were so looking forward to it. I hope it's a one off and we were just unlucky.

It was my wife's birthday and we were super keen to visit for months. We had a small birthday dinner and all was going well up until the sun set and thousands of bugs swarmed around us. They were in our food, our drinks, faces, hair etc...they were everywhere and everyone was bothered by them. No solutions or help was given by staff other than apologies. Most people left because of the bugs but we stayed to finish our dinner as our mains had just come out. We went and sat outside in the dark where there were less bugs. We understand the bug situation was out of our control, however we were really disappointed with how the staff handled the situation afterwards. While we were eating outside, staff were flicking lights on and off, laughing, playing loud dance music, all while we were still finishing our meal. We had to take our cake and celebrate elsewhere because we got the message and really didn't feel welcome. My wife has worked in hospitality and we all knew it was warm and they were probably tired and keen to go home, but our family spent almost $500 for our set menu that evening. Lovely food but really expected a bit more professionalism and care from staff, especially when spending that much.

We were unable to dine at Pizzateca due to their strict policy requiring a set menu for groups of 8 or more.
Despite our willingness to pay a significant deposit and advising various dietary requirements for both adults and children in our party, we were disappointed that individual meal selections were not allowed.
It's deeply frustrating that we were unable to choose our own individual meals as adults. It seems counterintuitive, especially considering we were prepared to spend more on multiple dishes rather than opting for the set menu. This limitation not only detracted from our dining experience but also represented a missed opportunity for the restaurant to increase their revenue.
When we asked about the reasoning behind this policy, we were simply told "it's the policy”. According to the person we spoke with, the owners have upheld this policy for years and regularly receive similar feedback.
This response was disheartening, as it seems there's little consideration for customer satisfaction or potential adjustments to better serve patrons.
This experience has not only deterred us from visiting personally but also from recommending the restaurant to others.
It's a missed opportunity for the restaurant to review its policy and make necessary adjustments, as they have effectively lost our business and any future plans to visit.
It’s regrettable that such a short-sighted approach to policy implementation has marred what could have been an enjoyable dining experience.

Food is great but they struggle with large bookings.
We had one booking over two tables, one table got all their food while the other table had to wait 40 minutes. Manager said they were unable to split the pizzas evenly between the two tables even though we were one booking. Just wasn't ideal for our engagement celebrations having half our group going hungry while the other half have finished eating., especially when you're paying so much money.
Also kept doubling up on the drinks or forgetting drink orders all together.
Unable to do split bills for drinks or people pay for drinks as they order which they didn't tell us when we made the booking.
Also not very accessible for my Nanna who had a walker and wheelchair as the entrance is all stones.
We will be back as we love the food and staff do try their best, just won't be back in a big group setting.

Great casual place with really good food, possibly a little noisy where we were sitting right near the bar/kitchen. Would specify that we all wanted our food to be served together as one person had to wait for pizza and we had almost finished our meal before pizza was served. 🤨

Booking was for 2;45 which was late but the service was still 10/10.
Pizza quality was outstanding, we did the feed us menu so a good variety of antipastos, salad and pizzas.
Really friendly staff always happy to grab us more drinks. The atmosphere was super positive

Having been to Pizzateca on a few occasions which we have always enjoyed, we bought friends to have lunch. Location is great, atmosphere, service, wine, all great. However, we were very disappointed with our pizzas. Ordered olives and arancini to share both were very good. One of our group ordered the special (fig/gorgonzola) and was told after about 10 minutes that it was sold out. We arrived at 12.15 so thought it strange as the restaurant was only about quarter full at this stage, so an alternative was selected. The pizzas are a very generous size, but unfortunately they were all a bit soggy which is a shame. We all thought that there was too much topping on the pizzas, especially the Margarita which was very soft and soggy because too many tomatoes were used. Although this is generous sometimes ‘less is more’. The pizza base definitely needs to be firmer and more crispy. Overall we had a lovely afternoon and will come back again, but it would be good if the pizza bases can be improved somehow as it really lowered the quality of our lunch experience.

This was our first visit after many friends raved about the place and having tried a few times to book only to find it booked out. So our expectations were very high! Pizzatecca did not disappoint, from walking in the door to paying and walking out the service was impeccable even though they were quite busy.
The food was wonderful - it truly is the best pizza you will have. Beautiful flavoursome ingredients on the top of a perfect thin base.
And Nonna's Tiramisu was next level - soooo good.
Overall a wonderful experience, well done and thanks to all staff

We've been to Pizzateca 4 times in the 2 years we've lived on the Fleurieu, and they always remember us and welcome us like old friends. Where else does this happen?
The food, the wine, the atmosphere, the staff, the Limoncello - it's all fabulous.
It's always difficult to get a booking, it's THAT popular! My advice is to book 3-4 weeks ahead in the summer, school holidays, special occasions (Mother's Day, Father's Day) and public holidays. And - always book the later seating, that way if your lunch turns into a loooooong lunch, you don't need to vacate your table for the next round of customers.

Four of us booked a 12:00pm lunch and were pleasantly surprised by the welcoming hospitality of the staff. The service was excellent and the food was presented quickly. All of our pizza choices were excellent. Would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Travelled to Pizzateca for a casual relaxed meal, we were greeted very warmly on arrival and seated quickly. Staff were quick to attend to our drink requirements and then took our meal order very promptly after that. Staff were extremely friendly and generally very accommodating. Overall a very good experience!

Intended to visit Maxwell winery for lunch but they only serve tasting menu at $160.00 per head. So googled to see what other venues are nearby.
Found Pizzatica just down the road. When arrived we thought there was a party going on. The atmosphere was vibrant and we got a table without any problem.
The service was great because we can't read Italian, the waiter was very helpful in explaining each selection of pizza.
When we got our order it was the best authentic Italian pizza we ever had. The price is very reasonable. We finished off with affogato and gelato ice creams. Total cost $45 for three of us. Will definitely go back and try other pizzas.

Booked in for lunch, with booking made by website. Initially i was a bit shocked about the $100 credit card hold for the booking, but understand in this day and age of people not turning up, costs businesses money. The lovely young lady who was attending us was lovely , friendly, helpful and very attentive. Had the tomato & mozzarella entree, tasted nice but not enough bread for the tomato and cheese. Pizza main, very nice and quite a traditional Italian pizza. Gelato for dessert, quite yummy.
Of note on the property is the huge huge gum tree. It was simply stunning.
We would recommend for a nice lunch and will likely return.
2 hr lunch sitting before 2pm bookings came in.
