Really really enjoyed my breakfast here, and prices were excellent. Ten out of ten for service and food

We did go on a very busy long weekend but our coffee was bitter and our chicken burger was not cooked through,the staff are always friendly , maybe just a bad day for them,hope so.

While on our mini vacation to the Riverland SA we had breakfast twice and lunch at the River Jacks Cafe situated right on the banks of the river. What a little gem of a place to eat while staying at the Berri Hotel as it’s...just across the road so it’s very convenient. The location is amazing with views of the river. There is inside & outside eating & it’s licensed too. The staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. For breakfast we had the usual of eggs & bacon, muesli, and yoghurt, green smoothies and milkshakes and all were delicious. Great coffee too. For our light lunch we had toasted sandwiches and coffee but the menu is quite extensive so plenty to choose from if you want something more substantial. Such a happy, busy place with a good vibe so highly recommend.More

Food was great, no complaints there. Table was jammed near the outside and toilet door entrance so found that a bit off putting. On entrance the staff were busy yakking to one of the locals and we felt a little ingnored. Not a "be there...in minute folks". Service could do with an upgrade but again the food was delish when it arrived.More

After leaving the Visitor Information Centre next door, it was to River Jacks Café. Coffee and something to eat and also to mull over the information gleaned next door. The Café is industrial vintage with a menu that speaks of home-made food using local produce....Given we were there just after some Covid19 restrictions had been relaxed and it appeared the staff were getting back into the routine again! Service was pleasant, efficient and prompt. The choice Pear and Ricotta Tart, Chocolate Muffin with coffees – a long black and flat white. Although a coldish morning we sat outside to take in the view of the Murray. The tart was pleasant and the mix of pear and ricotta delightful. The chocolate muffin, quite large and filling. The coffees were hot and on the stronger side with a sharp aftertaste. As we left those ever curious seagulls decided to check if we had left anything for them to scrounge! Unfortunately for them, not much of a feed was left! Return? If in Berri, yes we would to try something from their interesting specials board.More

Popped by for some breakfast once lockdown restrictions were eased. Must admit I was underwhelmed by the food (smashed avo and poached eggs) but the coffee was good. Staff were super helpful and very likeable. Really cute / quirky cafe.
