If I could give this place a -5 star review, I would. We waited 2 hours for meals to start coming out and even then it was incredibly slow from first to last dish. Our group was one of the first in the diner to...order but one of the last to get food and when we finally got it, it was sub standard to say the least. When we questioned(numerous times) why it was taking so long, staff were incredibly rude. Had someone come out and apologised for the wait or approached us at all, we would've been more understanding. But they didn't, just ignored us instead. The 8 kids in our group had done so well to wait 2 hours and so we asked if they'd be happy to give them all a scoop of ice cream to compensate for the long wait. They flat out refused and didn't offer anything else for the terrible service. We'd paid for three ice creams already that were included in the kids meal deal, and seeing as the serves were one teeny scoop of ice cream, we thought that an extra five would be the least they could do. But no, they refused and were incredibly rude about it. When we asked to speak to the manager they also refused. So we waited and when she finally emerged from outside, she refused to discuss the issue, rudely herded me out and then we copped a little bit more abuse from an immature little waitress and two other staff men on the way. Never experienced such disgusting service in my life. Will definitely not be back ever and will discourage anyone and everyone from bothering with this rude establishment. Side note - one older guy behind the bar was great and tried to hurry things up in the kitchen but didn't get anywhere either. And also a group of 6 locals who were seated on the table next to us, also waiting hours, went and complained about the service but we're also treated like crap and left super disappointed. You just have to read through other recent reviews to see that this place is not worth the time, money or energy.More

Booking for 11 at 6pm on a Sunday night, we had all ordered by 6:20pm. We watched other tables come after us, order, eat, and leave, and we still didn't have our entree. Entrees (Garlic bread and wedges) came out at 7:20 and 7:30, and...the mains didn't start until 7:40pm. Last two (kids) got their main at 8:05pm after everyone else had already finished eating for quite a while .... it was soup of the day and a burger! No-one ordered anything 'different' or even any steaks. All other food was standard straight out of a fryer.... except they weren't, as the chips were cold and over salted to the point we couldn't eat them. Portion sizes ranged from average to small, and garnishes were pathetic - just a few shreds of scallion. We did speak to the duty manager politely a number of times throughout the evening and always got "sorry it's busy in the kitchen" as he walked away, but even when one of our party did express our unhappiness with the whole situation, it was still the same brush off, with not even an offer of a round of soft drink. Disappointing for what used to be such a great place to eat. Another local who won't be back for a long time.More

We waited hours to be served after being there at 6pm on the dot. We complained about the very poor service. They brought out all the adult meals at 8:45 they brought the kids meals out last. We asked for 5 free ice creams for...the kids and was verbally assaulted and physically guided out of the hotel. I can not belive it went to that extent. Worst service I have ever experienced.More

Had visitors from Sydney and decided to go out for a meal and thought go local! - BIG mistake Very disappointed with the service, manager and the how long we had to wait for our meals. Took over 2 1/2 hours for our meals to...reach our table. Totally unacceptable. Asked to speak to the manager. He came out and said ‘very busy in the kitchen, do you want to go and have a look!😡’ really!!! We had ordered before quite a few tables but we were left till last. Wasn’t impressed eating the dregs of the veg and salad either. Lift your game Barmera Hotel - not impressed 😡🤬 For the Manager: you should never speak to a paying customer like you did. If there is a problem in the kitchen fix it. A good qualified Chef should easily get through busy nights.More

We went as a group of 15 for a golf weekend which was organised months in advance. The service was very disappointing as it boasts its friendliness. The staff were everything but friendly especially the breakfast staff person who clearly was put out by our...booking. There was no choice of what to have - everyone got a plate of lukewarm bacon and eggs dropped on the table in front of them. The rooms are dated but reasonably clean tho one of our group found mens underwear in their bed !! Bamera is beautiful and we will find somewhere else to stay for our next visit. I suggest you do too!More

We booked here for dinner on a Friday night. The food was good pub fare and the staff were excellent. Happy with the Covid procedures put in place at the salad bar.
