The Barmera Club overlooks the picturesque Lake Bonney in Barmera and offers magical sunset views of an evening. It's newly renovated dining room & alfresco area is fresh and sophisticated. It's fully licensed with a friendly atmosphere and serves quality, reasonably priced meals 6 days a week. The Barmera Club has a gaming room and kids playroom. Evening meals available Wednesday - Sunday. Lunch available Friday, Saturday & Sunday.

Were trying to find a meal late at night and the Club was the only place open - even though after 9 pm the chef was happy to oblige us with what wasa very good meal.
Overlooking lake Bonney and with the club having spent a lot on renovations this is a visit I enjoyed immensely. Would love to go back.

Went for dinner on Australia Day weekend. We booked a table which was good because it was very busy - food still came out quickly! Family friendly place with a kids play room for little kids. Really good air con in the building! Menu was simple. We had prarmi chips and salad and a calamari/battered fish plate which were both nice. They had a seafood Sunday with a few more options than on the main menu. Would be great to see a few more options like pastas and things on the main menu!
Will come back again!

While staying in Barmera my husband and I ate at the club for dinner twice. Great food and service both times. Over the 2 nights we had a beef snitzel, steak, a seafood basket and a pizza. Wow! All delicious! The ladies behind the bar were so friendly and engaging. Meals came out in a timely fashion. Very clean, family friendly and a great view looking over Lake Bonney! Highly recommend a visit!

Horrible meal. Garlic prawns were tasteless, rice was thick, heavy and not edible. Spoke to the young waiter and basically got I’ll mention it, so a $30 dinner with no sorry could we offer you something else? Walked away hungry. Won’t be back.

I ordered the salt and pepper squid, emphasis on the salt. Couldn't taste any pepper, the squid was overcooked, dry, not hot and basically one big giant rubber crunch. It also came with coldish chips.
Comments started coming through on the table such as the "sauce isn't very nice", "fisherman's basket is very oily" and "how do you stuff up a chicken snitty?". The roast potato's were hotter than the mains being sent out.
It's obvious that everything is pre-bought, heated and pushed through in a rush. Working on the line in a restaurant in the past we would never let food this disappointing leave the kitchen. My first of many times up at Barmera but definitely my last at the Barmera Club.

I've been 3 times and 3 times there's been an issue. First time my chicken was raw. It was dealt with and the chef was very apologetic. The next time I tried to order the pizza from the promotional picture I saw on facebook but they don't make pizza.... Ended up just getting a parmy and it was just kinda Okay. The third time again facebook promo of the specials. Ordered off the most recent post of weekly specials. When I arrived to pick up my meal was old the specials had not been updated and I had to pick from what was on the board this week. And magically they could get them out in 2 mins. So I had waited 30min to come in and pick up food that had been sitting under a heat lamp that had toppings tossed on and microwaved?
Marketing team needs serious improvements. Food isn't bad but not going back. The food doesn't wow me enough to make up for bad marketing and bad communication between the kitchen and the staff.

Waited 90 minutes for a schnitzel which was luke warm and the chips were cold. No salad at all. Place wasn't really busy either. Very poor meal and bar service also very slow. Left hungry. A staff member mentioned that sometimes the service was so poor she was embarassed.

My wife and I ate at the Barmera Club on Saturday night just gone. Lovely spot across from Lake Bonney. It was that good we fronted up again on Sunday night. Staff are super efficient and very friendly. We had the fish in coopers pale ale batter and a beef snitty. The meals were very well presented and of high quality. One of the best pub/club meals I've had for many years. Thumbs up to the kitchen and club staff. Please management do not let these staff go. We are already planning a future trip to Barmera which of course would include another meal at the club.

Thank you Danny for your review. I will pass your comments on to all the staff who worked. Due to staffing shortages on the weekend we were manned mainly by volunteers - especially cooking in the kitchen. They will be pleased that they met your expectations. They are a fantastic crew! Terribly overpriced meals and most meals were horrible. Had to pay extra for: gravy, bread roll, salad and veg. It’s a shame as it’s a beautiful place to eat looking out over the lake. Not rushing back there. Trying to be like the city. Bring back the country club with great tasty meals and not having to sell a kidney to eat there. Manager looked like she wanted to kill you

Service was fantastic, staff very friendly and efficient but would not choose to eat there again. Meals were expensive but not very nice. The meals came out quickly But the chips were undercooked and soft, the calamari was edible but not tasty. My mother in law on the other hand loved her battered fish and mashed potato. The salmon was ok but not great.
Very disappointing. I did read theses reviews but we thought we would give it a go as we had booked in already!

Well the salid was dry and willed well and truly over priced very disappointed compared to the last time we visited the meals were fantastic but now I wouldn't rate it at all and to charge for the sides that should have been thrown out and never delivered to anyone's table totaly discussing

We had a lovely meal on the balcony of the Barmera Club, overlooking the beautiful Lake Bonney.
A great spot when you have your dog in tow, when dining options can be limited.

We wanderedd down for an afternoon coffee which we really enjoyed. The service was excellent and staff were chatty and smiling. The view across the lake is devine.
