We went from Adelaide to Aldgate at night time for this beautiful restaurant; the road is not the most linear and simple, if bad weather I'm not sure if is simple to reach but it was worthy. We went on a Sunday night and was busy but the service was great, the food amazing. If you been to Japan, Yuki will remind you the small streets where you usually find the best place to eat, where just the resident are. We order the tempura combo and was light and simple as should be, the combo sashimi and sushi as well (we ordered the one for 3 people 🙄). The dessert ( the Matcha and red bean cake) was great and as japanese cake really are, with just a bit of sugar. Absolutely love the authenticity of this restaurant, I can't wait to go back and try the warm dishes.

Friends we were staying with in the Adelaide Hills organised a large table for a Sunday family lunch for 10. A couple had individual dishes, but most of us opted for the Chef's choice banquet (though you chose your main from a choice of 3). The food just kept coming! Dumplings. Octopus balls. Kingfish. The sashimi was exquisite. Presentation terrific. Expensive but wonderful food.

To begin with, it was very hard to decide on just what to order - the large selection of dishes was a little overwhelming. We finally settled on Yuki Ball, Eel Roll (huge serve), Spicy Pork and Combination Tempura. All of the dishes met expectations and were very generous in serving size. Drinks by the glass are on the expensive side at $13-$15 and the wines available, although all local, are predominately unknown. Service was pleasant and friendly although not alway attentive.

Slow and over priced. 35 mins to get sashimi, got drunk waiting for the rest of the food. It was pretty ordinary. Then the bill. We live up the road. Unless you are tourists, loaded and want Japan’s version of Butter Chicken, don’t go here.

A winner for Hills locals this lovely restaurant opening uo in Aldgate recently. Perhaps a bit ambitious in the scope of different Japanese dishes they serve but it does mean that you can go with pretty much anyone and they will find something that they will like. A good well priced list of local wines plus a few sakes you can try to round out the experience.

The menu is fantastic, with something for everyone. The food is delicious and cooked perfectly, the chefs need to be commended. The wine list was varied with local wines. The ambience also very good. BUT!!! The service was appalling. Two people for the whole busy restaurant which should have been OK but and they clearly had no idea what they were doing. We couldn’t get our table cleared, were stacking our own dishes and well it was disappointing. I felt they let the lovely restaurant down. Still, I would go back because the food is so good.

I ordered Sashimi for 2 as my lunch. The waiter said it was quite a lot for one. So I thought I would take any extra home for the evening. Well, I came home and had to eat something because of the tiny serving, ( it was very much a starter size) . Not enough for 2. Leaving hungry after spending $42 on a dish was not a good feeling. Also the fish was not cut up small enough for chop stick eating, so while I wanted to spread my tiny meal out, I actually had too much in my mouth at once because I could not cut it in half. The waiter obviously did not understand English well enough or did not know the menu well enough to advise people about quantities. This is almost a case for needing photographs of what we are giong to get. As corny as that may sound it would be useful for people unfamiliar wiht Japanese food Another memeber of our party had the combination Tempura which had two meezely prawns and lots of vegetables BUT IT WAS COLD on arrival. Another person ordered the Spicey pork. This was not cut up small enough to eat with chop sticks so I assume that is why she left half of it uneaten. When we needed somethign else it was really hard to catch the waiters eye. The place was fairly empty.

I have been to many Japanese restaurants both in Australia and Japan and the food here did not come close to being authentic. Food was lacklustre, and certainly did not have a real Japanese flair or flavour about it. Service was fairly one star, as it seemed. The server had little to no experience either in food, service or items on the menu. Additionally, items were not delivered to the table . If you love Japanese food, this is not the place for you.

Had a good 3 course meal here. Food was good quality particularly the sashimi but f surly expensive compared to our (Perth) loca I passed on some comments to the kitchen: Salmon terraki looked naked on the plate without rice. You really shouldn’t have to order rice separately. The soy sauce that the place uses is quite salty. Nice to sit outside

This restaurant didn’t appear like any other Japanese restaurant I have been to in Australia or in Japan. I doubt the staff are Japanese or know anything about Japanese culture. The service was lacking. Items that were ordered were not delivered [when this was mentioned at the end, the items were removed from the bill]. The flavor and style of cooking was more reminiscent of Chinese cuisine than Japanese.

I've been here a few times before, but this sadly will be the last as the service was awful and the food not much better. I'm not sure whether it was an off day, but the service was almost non existent and when the first dish arrived, it was something I didn't order, the next dishes arrived and only one of them I ordered, and the main reason I went was for the gyoza and these were the worst I've ever had, one was burnt black on the bottom, the rest were soggy inside and had zero flavour. And this was just the starters, with worse to come. We ordered two mains with rice, one came without and rice and after waiting around 25 mins, I decided it was time to ask what was happening with the other dish and the rice, clearly it had been forgotten and about ten mins later the rice and the other dish turned up, sadly the first main was cold by now and the dish I ordered was edible, but as I write this, my gums are still suffering from eating a katsu that was cooked way too much. I'm sure it was an off day, but spending 90 mins of my life on a quick bite to eat and with zero service is 90 mins of my life I won't get back which is a shame.

We were so happy to find this Japanese restaurant in the beautiful and peaceful Adelaide hill. We enjoyed the food, especially sushi. Salmon Avocado Rolls were excellent, so fresh and delicious. And Unagi (eel) sushi was so tasty and melting in my mouth. Uni (sea urchin) sushi which is hardly seen in other restaurants and was not bad. My husband is a vegetarian and he enjoyed Tempira vegetable roll and vegetable gyoza, Great for the vegetarians, too! The waitress was very friendly and we had a good time. No wonder this place is very popular and almost full even at weekday lunchtime. We highly recommend it. And one more thing, there is a beautiful poem about this restaurant name in the lady's toilet. I love it!

Japanese food but Korean flavours is all I can say about this restaurant. The batter for the temura prawn was more like fish & chips, the spicy pork was very Korean than Japanese. Green tea wasn't nice at all, it was very bitter. Service was ok, slow but the staffs were friendly.

We were holidaying from North QLD when we stumbled upon this gem. My husband and I had a fantastic meal here for date night. We have been to Japan 3 times and this by far is the best Japanese we have had in Australia. Very authentic. The sashimi was very fresh. The Takiyaki had a generous amount of octopus in it and the ramen by far something that would be served in Japan! 11/10!

The food we ordered was delivered with good service but lacked the quality of yesteryear. The sashimi was sparse for $42! A rip off! We had to ask for ginger and wasabi which was previously supplied. The wine prices at $60 per bottle were outrageous. We will not be returning.
