Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very friendly staff, however I think there may not be a lot of experience. Coffee had the flavour but was just warm & on a cold day that is not good. Food was tasty, however, again it was a mixture of just warm & hot. My husband ordered muesli to start followed by poached eggs. It all came out together which meant he ate his eggs first before the went cold (not hot to start with). Not the end of the world I know, but not ideal as we had been waiting & I'msure the muesli could have been popped in the plate in about 2 minutes. I put this mix up down to the inexperience of the staff which hopefully will improve. It is not an inexpensive place to eat, therefore the expectation is there for at least hot coffee, flavoursome hot food & good service. Didn't quite hit the mark this time but it would not deter us from coming back and would still recommend.

This is a pleasant place to have a meal, but the opening/closings times are just a little confusing. They are open for breakfast and lunch, but if you intend to have lunch, especially on a weekend, it is essential to ring first, as sometimes they close at 1.30 p.m., and sometimes at 12 midday, so you can get caught. Dinner is only served on Friday and Saturday nights between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m., and reservations are essential. The restaurant is licensed. The meals are always very tasty and served nicely by the young pleasant staff, although some are so young, experience is lacking. It is not a cheap meal, a bruschetta, consisting of 2 small pieces of toast and a small bowl of button mushrooms and tomatoes was $16.00. A small slice of brownie cake, $6.50. Nevertheless, the meals are good, and the ambiance is great. I`ve heard that there will be some entertainment value in the future....so lets`s wait and see. Stanthorpe certainly needs something like this.

We came here for breakfast on a whim when we saw their sign in town. I’m glad we did. Beautiful cafe, plenty of space for families and lovely atmosphere. The girls were very helpful and I finished my plate! I never finish my plate. The French toast was delicious however the toast and poached egg was a little overdone on a family members meal and I would suggest a kids breakfast meal because I think this cafe is perfect for families, so catering to kids would be of great benefit. But other than that I can’t wait to come back next time we visit Stanthorpe.

We were told to order our lunch quickly at 1:15 when we walked in as the kitchen was closing at 1:30! The table and floor were dirty where we were seated and clearly had not been cleaned or Covid safe. We waited at least 40 min for our food and when it arrived was very cold. Our one order of fish and chips came out white and unbattered - no one had asked us for a preference. The veggie lasagna was full of beetroot - very strange. The pulled pork rolls were cold and dry with very little filling and extremely tough ciabatta. The wine by the glass had a terrible aftertaste as if it had been left open. All in all not a good experience.

We have visited other venues in Stanthorpe and have always received a warm welcome. We have mostly ordered takeaways as we enjoy sitting in the picturesque areas and parks that Stanthorpe has to offer. Most people greet us with a warm country welcome but at this cafe there were no niceties and the first thing we were asked about was our vax status. No warmth. Just cold questions, cold responses, like slamming the door in our face. Regardless of our vax status, we would not order take away here let alone dine in. Other cafes have a far more friendly approach to visitors, more professional PR and value and earn the custom and respect of visitors.

This little hidden gem is a perfect place for breakfast. As I watched the happy young staff, they were always busy but with a smile. The manager came out and talked and asked all patrons how their food was. I had a breakfast burger, and it was loaded, and perfectly cooked. My son and the vegetarian breakfast, and I was a little envious . I wish I knew about this place for lunch the day before, as that menu, and the cocktail list also would appease anyone. I will come back here in October. Thank you Tina, your gem and staff are all because of you.

We visited this cafe for breakfast on both Saturday and Sunday morning. The staff are very friendly and the food is excellent. The coffee is excellent too. Order for breakfast is taken promptly and we waited just 10mins for food to be served. I highly recommend this cafe if you are in Stanthorpe. It is just a 2min walk off the main road. They also have chutneys, jams, oils etc for sale. Do not miss visiting this cafe.

We have been eating here for around 3 months, and we’re really impressed with the ambiance, service, and food. Unfortunately our experience today was extremely disappointing. Husbands chicken burger was disgraceful, small piece of chicken and little else. His chips were cold. My grilled fish had no flavour, the best thing about the whole meal was the onion rings which came straight out of the freezer. Why is it that these cafes start out great, and then let their standards slip.

This cafe is in a lovely space, and the staff were very friendly and pleasant. The food wasn't bad, but the portions were very small, and very basic, for the price. My eggs benedict hollandaise was cold, on top of my warm eggs and toast, which wasn't great, but it was the serving sizes for the price that got to me.

Terrific breakfast menu. Avo smash with extra rossti was great! SErving was very generous. Baked beans with Rossti was beautifully presented and very filling. Merlo Coffee was perfect and the mochas went down well. We will be back next time we are in Stanthorpe. Set in an old building it is just great location just off the Main Street.

I don’t like to leave bad reviews but how disappointed we were today. My daughter booked us a Mother’s Day breakfast sitting for two . She came all the way from Brisbane. We arrived on time to be told there’d be at least an hours wait. At 10am we noticed nobody else had food and decided to leave with just takeaway drinks. We told the friendly young staff we were leaving but sadly the manager/owner couldn’t even look us in the eye. Choosing to ignore us. We know you were super busy but why keep on taking more customers in when you couldn’t even provide a service for the ones who had booked? Very disappointing.

Situated behind the main street of Stanthorpe, we stumbled across The Little Larder early one Sunday morning. We were very glad we did! It was very busy but we got an inside table. We waited a little while, bit the place was chockers. We had fantastic coffees which were rich and smooth. We had the eggs Benedict, the scrambled eggs and bacon, and the breakfast burger. All were excellent with large portions and very fresh eggs. We will come again! Usual prices.

This place ticks all the boxes for me - food, coffee, good service, ambience. We both had the vege brekky, everything on the plate was fresh or house made, nothing frozen from a box like most places. Delicious and excellent value for money, I cannot fault this place, 10/10

Just had a yummy breakfast at The Little Larder. Super friendly staff and fast service. I had the vego breakfast, so lovely it wasn’t dripping in oil like they often are when you get similar things elsewhere. Kids enjoyed the pancakes, probably could have shared one between them but then there might not have been any leftovers for me. Beautiful decor also. Next time we visit we look forward to coming forward dinner and enjoying a cocktail or two!

Our party of four enjoyed breakfast here... four different types of coffees and everyone was happy! Four different breakfast orders and each one was amazing. The Little Larder will be our 'go to' for breakfast when visiting Stanthorpe! :)
