This cafe is an extension, in the same building, of the Information Centre/Kronosaurus Museum. As such it attracts a lot of families and their excited children. That might explain the long delays it took for the harassed assistants to take our order, and even longer to fulfil it! Amazingly the crowds seem to disappear as quickly as they'd arrived, so our arrival time was somewhat less than perfect. The packaged sandwiches on offer were not cheap and there were delays in fulfilling breakfast orders. All we wanted was coffee but orders were fulfilled in order so we had to be patient. When it arrived it was delicious! Or was that because we were by then parched?

A good choice for coffee in Richmond. Cafe opens early for breakfast and is staffed by friendly people.
We stopped by whilst in town for coffee: our long blacks could have had a bit more of a hit to them but were OK. There were some gluten free cake options.

This cafe has poor service staff and the coffee is disgusting and the food well definitely not worried about presenting it nicely or even cooked the way you want it. there was also a long wait time

The cafe is attached to the museum and provided fish sandwiches and hot snacks. we had a coffee here and the muffin was good.

Needed Lunch before looking at the dinosaurs so popped in here. They had a $10 lunch of the day special. Chicken snitty with chips and salad. O.O $10 ..so deff ordered it. Asked if they had some lemon and to my delight they did. Wow.Lunch arrived promptly with a smile. The salad was a true Aussie salad, mixed lettuce, tomato, cheese, cucumber, grated carrot, red onion and yes beetroot!!! It took up half the plate. Then there was a generous serve of chips with the snitty on top on the other half. The chips were fantastic, crisp and hot. I would love to go back and see what lunch special is tomorrow but I have to move on. Everyone around me was enjoying their meals as well. I was VERY impressed to see a thermometer was used when heating the milk for coffees! No burnt milk here. I would recommend you pop in to Moonrock Cafe while you are in Richmond

We had brekky here, but be warned, when you specify poached eggs, don’t be surprised if they come out boiled instead. Might be worthwhile explaining to the young girl who cooks them, what the difference is. We didn’t get the chance.

For a small cafe in a place which is certainly not the centre of most people's universe this establishment does a fine job in providing nice meals and beverages for their customers. My wife and I certainly enjoyed ours. Thank you Moonrock Cafe!

Just as well we are only staying 3 days in Richmond because the pies at Moonrock Cafe are very additive especially the butter chicken and the beef rendang as well as the pepper beef and the creamy garlic chicken. The coffee and chocolate thick shakes were also very good.
The service is so friendly and positive which makes you want to come back and say hello and obviously order more pies.
A special thanks to Tennille for such an amazing positive attitude to life even though it sometimes presents big hurdles to jump over. Thank you.

We grabbed a take away lunch from here...pie, sausage roll, chicken wrap and corned meat wrap. All of us were satisfied with our meals and the ladies that served us were lovely.

After a terrific time inside the museum we were looking for some lunch and inside the museum sites the Moonrock cafe. The owner is just lovely and clearly proud of both the town and the food she is serving. The pies were delicious and well priced. The staff were professional and very welcoming. Highly recommended.
