Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Not really good customer service, especially when the Indigenous locals come in. I come in every now and then and the customers service is not very welcome that's why I drive drive to mount garnet top shop where the food thier is way more better...and more fresher. And the customer service at the top shop is amazing.More

We’re visitors to Ravenshoe and the cafe was recommended, so we called in to get a coffee early in the morning on the way to look at the Millaa Millaa Falls. The staff were so lovely and the coffee was excellent. The burger menu looked...good so we decided to have that for dinner. There were 4 or us, we had a bacon and egg burger, hamburger, fillet Steak burger and a crumbed chicken burger. Everyone of us enjoyed every bite… so delicious!!! We also got a serve of chips (huge amount for $5) they were also fantastic.More

Dropped into Ravenshoe to have a look, buy some supplies and to have a coffee on way to Lava Tubes. Choose the Country Mile cafe as it had some outdoor seating from where we could look at the Main Street and the passing parade. Staff...were friendly and the coffee was excellentMore

This is a great spot to grab lunch on the run, or sit outside and watch the world go by. Recently I've had huge freshly made salad rolls which are very reasonably priced and husband was very happy with his burger. They have home made...desserts in the case too, the other day I saw home made cheesecake and tiramisu. Haven't tried them but they looked lovely!More

Stopped here on the way to The Gulf at the start of our Savannahlander trip; the bus driver pointed everyone to the bakery. We headed to this Cafe up the street, on the corner, looking for something more substantial for breakfast, as we had left...our hotel in Cairns at 6am. My partner ordered bacon & eggs, and then I spied someone had baked beans with their meal. I asked if I could have just baked beans on toast; something you don't see on the menu these days, but one of my favourites for breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble for these lovely people. Since we had limited time they quickly set about cooking our meals. This is a great little country cafe (table & chairs inside) with basic, yet wholesome food, nothing fancy and the prices were very reasonable. The meal sizes were generous too. Definitely would go back.More

I went in for lunch and the chalkboard advertised that burger and chips was $12. I was told that salad on the burger was extra. I used my debit card and got a receipt. later that night I realised that I was charged $21. I...went back to speak to the owner ian Burns. He said, yes, you are right, I should have charged $2 for salad. It is not advertised that this is extra. It also was not the correct price charged to me, but he gave me a few bucks. I felt bad, and wanted a job there, so I gave the money back if there was a misunderstanding and ordered chips for $5. I sat down and after a bit was given a package of food in which I packed away in my backpack and left. The woman said chips and handed it to me. Later when I opened the package, it was 2 pieces of fish (wich is advertised on their board for $9). I walked towards the shop which was loaded with customers and a long line and tried to get the owners attention to the mistake. instead he pointed at me, and pointed at the food screaming "What do you have there?" I said fish, it was a mistake and I thought I would let you know about it. He did not demand that I enter the restaurant at that time. I left. I was only standing in the door because that was how long the line was. The next morning on my wayout the door Ian the owner caught my attention as I walked by and said come here. He demanded that I pay for the fish, he would apply the $5 I already paid, and I owed an additional $13. He had of course never paid me for the fact that he had overcharged $9 for that burger before and only gave me $2 refund of his overcharge. I insisted that he was wrong, and he said it was found law. That I found something that was not mine, and I decided to not return it but just stand in the door. Although they gave me fish accidently did not seem to matter. Also, not knowing the laws here was an issue. in the USA food is never returned even if it is accidently given out wrongfully. I thought paying half would be a compromise. But, he insisted and even phoned the local police on me...since he had been a liasion to the aboriginal previously.. I paid it because I did not want any problems. I knew he was doing whatever he wanted to do and seemed to have the police to back him up. I do think it was targeted to me specifically, but this is the kind of business you are dealing with. Buyer beware. I was charged double the price for the fish I did not order and could not afford. If all prices were followed in this sherade according to what he advertises, then he still owes me money...$18 back for the fish (no it should not matter I ate it) and $7 (9-2) for the overcharge from the burger and chips order. At the very least if I am wrong and should have paid for the fish, it was $9. So, that puts him at owing me $16 and an apology. But, I think people do what they want because they know they can get away with it. It is a shame, do not give this man your money, because if one is not free, none are free...you could be next!More

We were searching for a place to have lunch while passing through Ravenshoe. This little place seemed to be buzzing so we went in. I ordered a BLT with chips, my wife asked for a wrap which wasn't actually on the menu and they happily...obliged and I asked for a banana milkshake for my son. Customer service was outstanding - very accommodating. Food came out very quickly and all meals were freshly made and delicious. Definitely recommend this place and I will visit again in future.More

This cafe was a special find on our recent touring trip to North Queensland. the coffee really exceeded expectation and the burger was generous and wholesome, as was the ingredient packed salad sandwich. Breakfast next day also exceeded expectations with lashings of quality bacon and...perfectly cooked eggs and chunky fruit loaf toast. The service was super friendly.More

The food was wonderful, the costumer service was excellent. Easy to find just next to one of the pubs. and when we waited for our food we went to the food shop just a hop, skip and a jump away from the cafe.

You are limited as to takeaway food in Ravenshoe - The food at Country Mile is good. However they do the coated chips which are not something I personally like but others do - but their kebabs are to die for. They are large -...plenty of filling and not expensive for the quality of the food. Nothing is too much trouble and will go the extra mile to make your experience a good one. Like strong coffee? Then try theirs. They serve it with a chocolate which is a nice touch and if you want a sweet treat they do have cakes. Highly recommended.More

Dropped in for coffee and a bite to eat. The cofee was nice amd the cheesecake was very sweet. The coffee did however take forever to arrive. Three other customers were served and received their orders before our coffee arrived. Nice cafe but very slow...and by our experience locals get priority service.More
