Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We have been to Swagat about 6 times over recent months and have loved every meal. The $25 dinner meal deal must be the best value meal you can have out, the place is BYO and while service can vary depending on Uber Eats demand the food is worth waiting for. Standouts have been the Goat Curry and the Lamb Bhunna with a rich onion sauce. Pakora are great too, especially the paneer as are the lamb cutlets. Without reciting the menu we haven't been disappointed once with Tikka Masala, Madras, Rogan Josh, Jalfrezi or even the ubiquitous Butter Chicken. We can't think of on Indian restaurant in Australia we have enjoyed more, every dish is distinct and complex. There seem to be a lot of the local Indian community dining here to cite a cliche re choosing ethnic food. Portions are also generous.

It was such a pleasure to speak to the chef about our dietary requirements and the food he prepared for us was the best we have found in Queensland. It was Easter weekend and despite the restaurant being busy our food was very delicious, both vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian. Highly recommend.

We have been meaning to come here for a few years now because every time we walked passed it, the smell was amazing. It did not disappoint. The food was delicious and clean tasting. The spices were spot on and the rice was not dry like some Indian places. We definitely will be back next time we are here.
Plus the lovely young man who served us had excellent manners. Well done!.

Was excited to go after reading the reviews. The starters were great samosas and pakoras. The curries were different to say the least. Butter chicken was sweet. Masala had a good taste but had far too many vegetables, same for our lamb curry which we also found cucumber in!! The palak paneer was definitely the most disappointing. This should have been with a sauce of spinach. There was hardly any spinach and was full of vegetables that should not have been there. The cheese had also been marinated with something sweet and almost had a bbq flavour about it. It was replaced without hesitation but with more or less the same problem with the new dish. The staff and service was great but a big disappointment. Not very authentic.

I went with a MeetUp group. The food was among the best Indian food I have had. However the service and atmosphere left a lot to be desired.
To order drinks had to line up at the counter and compete with take away ordering and pick up. Once paid could not take drink as person was not able to serve alcohol. Had to wait for the sole waiter to deliver. My red took 30 minutes to deliver but only after I asked.
The room was extremely noisy - all hard surfaces including tiled floor.
Food service was good and the food quality was top class.

I ordered a takeaway. Whilst the naan bread was cooked well, I was disappointed in the Rogan Josh. The meat tasted fatty, lacked the taste of fresh spices and fresh coriander, and why do so many Indian restaurants add sugar to their curries! Please...keep your sugar for the dessert menu!!

Best Indian food I have eaten in Queensland! And we try Indian in all places we travel to… If you crave authentic Indian food when in Sunshine Coast, this is the place to be.
Highlights: eggplant and pumpkin curry and butter chicken hit the right taste notes. Potato Parata and potato naan was awesome and so was the takeaway meat samosas. We craved for more and on our last night we had a biriyani dinner and wow it sure was.
Definitely visiting this place when back on the Sunny Coast.

We are at the park, across the road, so firstly the location was handy. BUT surpassing that was the flavour, value & quality. We have had 2 takeouts from here & OMG this place has re-kindled my love of unique Indian flavours & spices. Well done.

I love Indian food and this place would be the best I’ve tried so far. The chicken tikka masala, chicken Kadai and butter chicken were all delicious. The delivery service was excellent too.
Would recommend and looking forward to my next takeaway.

My beautiful wife and I visited this restaurant for takeaway a couple of times.
My wife loves indian spicy food, I only like mild. On both counts it delivered. Good food, good value.
No disappointments here.

Worst Indian restaurant
We got take away last night. Terrible food
This is the second time we tried it. Thought the first time we might have got them on an off day? Nope. Won’t be going there again

If you like spice & want the best tasting Indian food, get your takeaways from here. The restaurant/ vibe is not the best, but the food is so worth it. Best Indian food I've had in Australia...

We got takeaway. We were told our food would be ready in 20 minutes. We got there 20 minutes later and it was waiting for us. Delicious , but be warned, we ordered moderately spicy and it was zingy indeed! We’ll be back

My wife and I have walked by this place many times. We stopped in one night when the timing worked out, and sat at an outdoor table. We ordered our favorite curries, and they came out to some great. They would also be a good option for takeout.

Possibly the best Indian on the Sunshine Coast. Not sure because I haven’t tried them all, but of the dozen or so I have, it is by far the best. Friendly staff. Consistently good food. Generous portions. Reasonable prices.
