We my family’s we had a very delicious friendly dinner with all attention from team in that lovely Queenslander house well decorated and large veranda.
Chef Modi recommended us crispy Asian flavors crispy salmon, generous curry prawns with lots of cauliflowers and greens. Tender slow cook Aussie ribs on a bed of mixed salads.
And more in the menu.
Home made deserts were as nice and fresh.
We will come back for sure in our next visit to Maleny.

Recently my husband and I were holidaying up at Maleny & just as we were about to head back up to Brisbane to home we needed to get some lunch and Maple 3 had a sign up saying they were closing yet after a little chat decided to turn everything back on for us including the coffee machine etc. They were closing early due to severe storm warnings and most in the town had already packed up. They were very patient with us and didn't push us along at all, very much recommend them for their hospitality and for their tasty food (I ate the thai beef & ginger salad & it was liquid gold)!

Maple 3 is a wonderful, reliable cafe which is always happy to serve ready made delicious meals, cuppas & cakes, pies & tarts made on the premises by dedicated, hardworking chef & owner, Mark...and all with a friendly welcome & smile as you enter & leave. Mark is open & ready to serve customers, drinks & tasty treats long past the normal 2.30pm closure of most cafes. Fabulous!

Our first visit since long time owner Mark sold the business and we anticipated another excellent dining experience. Unfortunately this didn't happen, and as we had invited friends from out of the region to join us, it was disappointing twice over.
As local residents for more than 20 years we always try to support local businesses of every kind but we won't be returning to Maple 3 any time soon.
Attempting to end on a more positive note, the lady at the counter with whom I spoke did offer us a complimentary coffee to make up for the issues I pointed out with the meals but I declined as it was the food we were disappointed with, not an unordered coffee which could have been excellent for all I know.

arrived at 1pm, only one other person dining. We ordered coffee and pie with salad and ginger stir fry
The food was ok, nothing startling but we questioned the bill. The lady told us they charge a 10% surcharge on Sundays to pay their staff. There was no sign near the till, no mention of a surcharge on the menu.
We wished we had walked further up the main road as there were so many lovely cafes with no surcharge.

Came here for lunch on a Thursday. What a mistake that was. We ordered 2 coffees a Caesar salad and a BLT. Coffee came after about 20 minutes and lunch came after we managed to flag down a waitress and enquire how long it would be as people who came after us were already eating (very similar meal’s btw). She came back and said it was next which is actually code for ‘we forgot’. Also said that they were V busy.. um not really lady. Meal was pretty ordinary to say the least. A ton of lettuce , and bacon that was pretty shredded Sauce was tasteless. All in all it was beyond disappointing.

I went here with 3 friends for breakfast having seen great reviews. There were signs saying please vacate your table after 60 minutes. The coffee was served very quickly and was very good, but more than an hour passed while we waited for our meals. Were we expected to leave before the meal arrived? On delivery the poached eggs were over cooked and cold on both Egg and Bacon dishes, same on the Eggs Benedict, and the ham was cold, the Hollandaise was shop bought. This restaurant was great, but the new owners need to pick up the standard.

We went for a Sunday breakfast and unfortunately had a terrible experience. Ordered breakfast, got our drinks but then nothing else. We queried the delay and once again nothing, after nearly an hour we decided to leave and get a refund. We were suddenly told our food was being cooked after seeing three tables that arrived after us eat and leave. Not good , I think the only reason they survive as a restaurant is due to the small amount of competition in beautiful Maleny.
We will never go back.

Waited 1 hour for a breakfast order, before asking a waitress to check on the food. Incorrect order brought out and was stone cold. Due to being so hungry we did not complain but asked that the eggs be removed due to an intolerance. As we were leaving the male at the counter was very facetious and rude. The waitress was lovely however and tried her best to compensate for the terrible service.

Gone back after 5 years with new owners, well coffee was great and that's where it stops. 3 coffee's and 3 breakfasts $70. 30 minutes to get our food, and there was only one person in front of us. Portion size has ridiculously shrunk and price risen. Poached eggs had way to much vinegar in the cooking process, and a egg shell. The Sour dough bread was wholemeal bread. The avocado was meant to be avocado, but got puree avocado spiked with way to much lemon juice.
Now we are professional bakers and chefs and know our breads and cooking processes. Very disappointed with new owners. Old owner Mark knew his stuff.
Unfortunately will not be returning or recommending to others as I've done in the past.

Menu and service remain much the same. Pies continue to be excellent. The ad hoc lunch specials still entice. Service still good and friendly. The water dragons are still in residence!
Only criticism is with the "baguette" dish, it has shrunk and now seems to be based on those "bake at home" frozen supermarket baguettes.

Great coffee, food under cooked & very rushed.
Could hear the chef yelling at staff the whole time & staff working their butts off. Cafe was dirty & stuffy with no air flow.

A previous poster nailed it, but here's my two bits. Three stars for opening over Easter, when many didn't.
It's not an easy call, especially with the lockdown in Brisbane just ending- and the rain, meaning crowds in town.
As for the rest, you don't go to a cafe to que, and then sit and wait for your order when it is simply something from the counter. Why stress out your young staff, making them run so fast, but not have time for the customers? Why not hire someone with a little experience to manage the customer side of the equation? It would help. Great location, nice food, but just very poor management decisions making for an unacceptable experience. Quite unnecessary, really.

We ate lunch on a Thursday during the school holidays. Managed to get a table on the front verandah for the 5 of us. Pleasant spot in the winter sunshine.
However, we waited nearly 30 minutes for our food, which was just pies and quiche (all reheated) and a salmon salad. Even the coffees (which were good) took a long time to arrive.
Perhaps they were understaffed that day, but some sort of apology for the delay would have been welcomed. If a cafe cannot appreciate the customer experience, then poor service becomes the norm.

Waited 45 minutes for burnt eggs and rubbery bacon.Had to ask for our order after 1/2 an hour. Very disappointing.
