Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Waited 45 minutes for burnt eggs and rubbery bacon.Had to ask for our order after 1/2 an hour. Very disappointing.

I wish we had walked 2 more minutes to eat at one of the MANY other cafes on offer because we surely did pick the worst. 1 pie with salad, 1 quiche no salad, 1 coffee, 1 pot of tea and a slice of “hummingbird...cake” that I later saw had just made its way out of a bulk cardboard box = $38. The girl on the till told me eftpos machine wasn’t working even though the lady in front of me used it and by the time I got back from the bank machine the lady in front of me again seemed to be using without a problem. We then sat at a dirty table (in the end we asked for it to be cleared) and waited 40 mins before ANYTHING arrived. We should of in hindsight just asked for our money back and gone somewhere else. Was it worth the wait.. no, the pie was tasty enough the quiche was just a simple bacon and cheese quiche, nothing special but def not worth the wait. The cake which we ended up taking out went in the bin. Do yourselves a favour go anywhere else but this cafe, it’s overpriced and it definitely under delivers.More

Not great food. Quite bland and not overly fresh. Service was good though. Probably wouldn’t eat there again sadly.

Gone back after 5 years with new owners, well coffee was great and that's where it stops. 3 coffee's and 3 breakfasts $70. 30 minutes to get our food, and there was only one person in front of us. Portion size has ridiculously shrunk and...price risen. Poached eggs had way to much vinegar in the cooking process, and a egg shell. The Sour dough bread was wholemeal bread. The avocado was meant to be avocado, but got puree avocado spiked with way to much lemon juice. Now we are professional bakers and chefs and know our breads and cooking processes. Very disappointed with new owners. Old owner Mark knew his stuff. Unfortunately will not be returning or recommending to others as I've done in the past.More

Regularly visited for years for a special coffee'n'cake &/or a delicious light lunch. Won't return now it's under "new" management. Unfiltered warm chemical tasting tap water. No value for money. Prices increased for poor quality. Stodgy "Baked" cheesecake, made by a talentless cheap "home" cook:...sugary "crumble" base + oversweet topping of Phillie cream cheese & sugar, with a mean dribble of thin cream. No fresh ingredients, imagination or baking skill, unlike the previous genuine baked French cheesecake - real pastry & a baked custard using eggs, with slivers of apple & hints of ginger, accompanied by thick fresh or whipped cream. So ordinary that any idea of paying more for a light lunch was shelved. Slow service by a couple of middle-aged women: the former wait staff - bright, keen young - all gone. A tacky grubby sign of 10% surcharge on Sundays stuck to the cash register. No paintings on the bare walls. The native dragons vanished. No style, no polish. Very disappointing. Hope the new owners haven't paid too much for the business.More

Morning tea here. Lovely area out on the deck to eat. Service good. Cake a bit dry though and coffee good.

Came here for lunch on a Thursday. What a mistake that was. We ordered 2 coffees a Caesar salad and a BLT. Coffee came after about 20 minutes and lunch came after we managed to flag down a waitress and enquire how long it would...be as people who came after us were already eating (very similar meal’s btw). She came back and said it was next which is actually code for ‘we forgot’. Also said that they were V busy.. um not really lady. Meal was pretty ordinary to say the least. A ton of lettuce , and bacon that was pretty shredded Sauce was tasteless. All in all it was beyond disappointing.More

Recently my husband and I were holidaying up at Maleny & just as we were about to head back up to Brisbane to home we needed to get some lunch and Maple 3 had a sign up saying they were closing yet after a little...chat decided to turn everything back on for us including the coffee machine etc. They were closing early due to severe storm warnings and most in the town had already packed up. They were very patient with us and didn't push us along at all, very much recommend them for their hospitality and for their tasty food (I ate the thai beef & ginger salad & it was liquid gold)!More

MAPLE 3 (at 3 Maple St. Maleny) is following the mandate and seating customers that show vax info… allowing takeaway (to be taken off premises) to masked unvaxxed. Thank you Maple 3 Cafe. You are now our home cafe during this crazy time. Great food...and fab coffee and wonderful service from a biz doing the right thing for their community. What more could you want from your local? 5⭐️More

We went for a Sunday breakfast and unfortunately had a terrible experience. Ordered breakfast, got our drinks but then nothing else. We queried the delay and once again nothing, after nearly an hour we decided to leave and get a refund. We were suddenly told...our food was being cooked after seeing three tables that arrived after us eat and leave. Not good , I think the only reason they survive as a restaurant is due to the small amount of competition in beautiful Maleny. We will never go back.More

I went here with 3 friends for breakfast having seen great reviews. There were signs saying please vacate your table after 60 minutes. The coffee was served very quickly and was very good, but more than an hour passed while we waited for our meals....Were we expected to leave before the meal arrived? On delivery the poached eggs were over cooked and cold on both Egg and Bacon dishes, same on the Eggs Benedict, and the ham was cold, the Hollandaise was shop bought. This restaurant was great, but the new owners need to pick up the standard.More

Waited 1 hour for a breakfast order, before asking a waitress to check on the food. Incorrect order brought out and was stone cold. Due to being so hungry we did not complain but asked that the eggs be removed due to an intolerance. As...we were leaving the male at the counter was very facetious and rude. The waitress was lovely however and tried her best to compensate for the terrible service.More

Menu and service remain much the same. Pies continue to be excellent. The ad hoc lunch specials still entice. Service still good and friendly. The water dragons are still in residence! Only criticism is with the "baguette" dish, it has shrunk and now seems to...be based on those "bake at home" frozen supermarket baguettes.More

A previous poster nailed it, but here's my two bits. Three stars for opening over Easter, when many didn't. It's not an easy call, especially with the lockdown in Brisbane just ending- and the rain, meaning crowds in town. As for the rest, you don't...go to a cafe to que, and then sit and wait for your order when it is simply something from the counter. Why stress out your young staff, making them run so fast, but not have time for the customers? Why not hire someone with a little experience to manage the customer side of the equation? It would help. Great location, nice food, but just very poor management decisions making for an unacceptable experience. Quite unnecessary, really.More
