I'm a Kuranda local and I love taking the kids to Frogs, they love the water dragons, it keeps them entertained so the adults can enjoy themselves more also.. Both my kids have special dietary requirements which they always cater too. Frogs have been forced to close their usual operations during COVID-19 but they are opening especially for us at night time for takeaway which is greatly appreciated. Thank guys xx

Chose Frogs for our lunchtime feed as part of our day train trip to Kuranda. Cool location within the artisan market but also surrounded by rainforest and staffed by a friendly crew. Couldn't go past the great value curry specials - we enjoyed the beef with eggplant and the spinach with chickpea - washed down with a local craft beer. Very enjoyable!

The lunch stop here was part of a cable car/train package from Cairns Tableland tours and it was a highlight. We had the steak and it was cooked exactly to order with mushroom sauce, fries and a salad.
The restaurant has a sort of funky vibe which suits the area full of craft shops etc.
Service was fast and friendly.

Frogs restaurant has been operating since I arrived in Kuranda in 1980. I’ve watched owner Terry Pates and his wife Vicki grow and adapt to every challenge that has been thrown at them over their many years together. One thing I can say, however, is that the food has always been good and the service great. They have been an asset to the Kuranda community and are now here for us locals by being open with beautiful take away meals which is truly a luxury at this time. I highly recommend this restaurant and respect Terry and Vicki for the tremendous effort and energy that they have always put into their business.

Dining in has been put on hold for a while because of obvious reasons but that doesn't mean you have to miss out on the delicious food this restaurant is famous for For six days a week takeaway meals are served in the evenings for those who are in lockdown in Kuranda and beyond. Just phone your order through and give them a pick up time . You wont be disappointed , highly recommended.

The surrounds, the setting and the service was quite lovely but the food let us down.
The calamari salad had a weird taste to it that left us wondering if it was the dressing or if it was undercooked. The food was not tasty at all. The steak burger came with the steak so large that you could not eat it like a burger but had to cut it up. This is the first restaurant where trip advisor has let me down

Thanks for the review. I am sorry that the calamari salad was not to your taste, we pan sear the calamari at a flash point temperature very difficult to undercook, maybe the citrus, balsamic and grape seed oil dressing not quite to your liking. Yes our black Angus steaks in the burger are 200 grams+ a large serve, we do offer substantial serves, I must say it is not a common suggestion to serve less. The rest of your table had the wild caught barramundi and the Moroccan chicken burger which I trust were fine. We always strive to go beyond expectations so my apologies if we missed the mark.

I always love coming to frogs when I come to Kuranda. The location is lovely and relaxed. The staff are (mostly) wonderful, helpful and super chill and the food is consistently tasty - if a tad overpriced for serving size.
We love sitting on the verandah. Last time we ate at frogs we had the barramundi and the feta salad (and added some chips as the meals aren’t massive) which was all really tasty. Of course we have to mention the bearded dragon as we love him and enjoyed watching how relaxed he was with 5 children from the neighbouring table patting him, screaming, trying to feed him ice cream (he wasn’t keen). Always an enjoyable experience at Frogs.

We encourage our guests ot to feed the Eastern Water Dragons but children will be children and the bearded one only likes macadamia and caramel ice cream with ginger topping.

Frogs is a quirky restaurant in the middle of one of the markets in Kuranda. It looks very basic but the food is excellent.
We opted for the smaller curry dishes and they were just perfect for lunch and absolutely delicious.
Be aware though there are often some "friends" hanging around the tables. There are water dragons around which are great if you like them but can be off-putting if you're afraid of them. You can always find a table away from though and it's definitely worth a visit for the great food.

Our curries are very popular and we look after nearly all the Indian groups that visit Kuranda, but now, more and more free independent travelers from India find us from word of mouth that is spreading in India!
We have 6 varieties of curry available, chicken and mushroom, crocodile and green mango, mutton and green apple with mint, chickpea and spinach, masoor dhal and beef and eggplant, all with basmati rice and raita.

Due to the unfortunate circumstances as of late, nobody is allowed to dine-in at the restaurant, but that hasn't stopped the team at Frogs. Currently, you are still able to order delicious takeaway food during the evenings. I would highly recommend Frogs to anyone in the Kuranda and surrounding regions looking to try the awesome food there.

This is a great place for both locals and tourists. We live near Kuranda and came here regularly over the last 2 years for the tasty curries, excellent service and relaxed atmosphere.
If you want to get a genuine taste of Kuranda, this is the place! It comes complete with rainforest dragons ( not dangerous- just very cute) and views of the rainforest.
Well ventilated if you are COVID cautious with open sides.

Frogs has an amazing ambience tucked away in a secluded part of Kuranda behind the markets near the Koala and bird sanctuaries.
You won't walk away with a bad taste in your mouth and feeling like youve been stung in your back pocket by a swarm of wasps !
Frogs has been there for about 30 years with a great reputation and is definitely not a fly by night rip and run eaterie.
The al fresco old farm style decor is classy and very much Australian as opposed to boring modern kitsch.
Frogs has an excellent tasty menu and some awesome curries. Amazing coffee.

The meals were all large, and freshly made. I had the avocado and sheep’s feta salad, which was fresh and full of plenty of ingredients. We also got a croc-emu-roo platter to share, to try three of the Aussie meats, which was actually quite delicious.

Great craft beers, very friendly and perceptive staff in a beautiful, laid back setting - exactly the sort of thing we were looking for on our break. Don’t be fooled into thinking that it’s too hot for the curries ; they’re perfect with a local beer. 100% would go back

This restaurant is set within the Heritage Markets at Kuranda village. A rustic-chic relaxed ambience coupled with a delicious lunch menu. We had burger, fish and chips, seafood curry, feta salad, calamari salad. All very tasty. The service was friendly too!

An amazing find in Kuranda. Both the service and food were great. Best fish curry we've ever had. We usually go for hotter curries but this one was so full of flavour. The barramundi just melts in your mouth.
Had the emu-roo-croc tasting plate as well. Very good and just enough for two. Only regret is that I didn't get a jar of that sauce to take home.
