Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were so happy that we came across this restaurant. It was definitely off the beaten path, well away from where most of the tourists venture. We were tired of eating the same type of food during our travels and the idea of having crepes was very inviting. Our server did warn us before seating us that it would take 20-25 minutes for our food to arrive once we placed our order, which we appreciated since we were on a tour and at times very little time is available to view sites and eat while on an excursion. There is only outside seating but the area is covered. We ordered the Hearty Chicken Crepes with tomatoes, cheese, olives and spinach. They were so large that we could easily have split one. For dessert, my husband ordered the Nutella with cream. This too was very good but could have been a little crispier. I would definitely recommend trying this restaurant if you are not pressed for time.

A visit to Kuranda Rainforest Markets is a must - a quaint village of artisans displaying creative arts, crafts, local produce & wares ..... vibrants works of art on walls beckon exploration. Feeling a little peckish we yearned a French treat. We decided on sharing a savory & a sweet crepe; smoked salmon, goats cheese, home made onion jam, cherry tomatoes, spinach & melted cheese - just melts in the mouth with a crisp crepe crunch & pan fried banana with homemade dark Belgian chocolate, toasted almond flakes with vanilla icecream was heavenly. The passion fruit tropical juices were so refreshing, service was friendly & attentive. This is a must try destination in a lush tropical nook of Kurunda Rainforest.

On a rainy overcast day we ventured up the hill to the Kuranda rainforest and stumble across the fabulous French Crepe specialist at Petit Cafe. The food was simply scrumptious and the service and attentiveness of our waiter Louis was absolutely first class. If you visit Kuranda you simply must visit Petit Cafe, otherwise you will be missing out on a real treat 😄👍

Never experienced such rudeness ever in our life! We asked for a small detailed change with our breakfast and the owner said no body tells me how to cook my food! Incredibly rude service. Told him to cancel full order of 4 people. Would not recommend at all.

Contrary to the below review, the French theme is not "passé". This crêperie is run by French people and the galettes are authentic and very well garnished. You coukd think you were in Brittany. They were absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. Merci beaucoup. C était délicieux.

I love coming to Petit Café so when a friend recently opened a plant shop in the Original Rainforest Markets I was excited about coming for a crepe when visiting her. The team do a great coffee brew and the all-day savoury breakfast crepe is totes delish. Petit is a little away from the tourist area of Kuranda so you don’t get as many Skyrail/Kuranda Scenic Railway customers as you might think but that said, it is always busy and well supported by the locals. See how many hippies you can spot!

Im a kuranda local and eat here regularly, aiming to support our local traders during a difficult time. I was disappointed to be charged a 15% surcharge given it was a public holiday. Piss poor policy, and piss poor justification by the manager. On principle, i wont patronise this business ever again nor recommend it to anyone. I will however, redirect my expenditure to those local businesses who dont charge a ridiculous 15% surcharege. Piss poor policy Petit cafe.

Whilst the savoury crepe we ordered was delicious and well presented, the Granola bowl was a big disappointment. This should’ve been called a yoghurt bowl as the ratio of yoghurt to Granola was way out, there would’ve been around 1/4 of Granola to over 1/2 + cup of yoghurt. This teamed with tinned pineapple served with the bowl, whilst there was fresh pear and kiwi fruit, I find this completely unacceptable given the location we were in and considering the photo from the menu.

The crepes were pretty good, the one I chose was a little bland and slightly overcooked. The staff friendly and cheerful but run off their feet. We got there at the busiest time, very close to lunch time and the place was packed so we were happy to accept that there would be a wait. Unfortunately the wait was about 35 minutes, maybe a little more. We had ordered drinks and by the time the food arrived the drinks were almost finished. vegan, vegetarian and gluten free are available but can't comment on the quality.

Petit Cafe was our first stop. We were so looking forward to it. The ambiance is unique and we enjoyed choosing from the menu. Unfortunately the staff forgot to make our order and some 45 minutes later we had to remind them that we were still waiting. Other parties had arrived, eaten and left in that time. The gluten free crepe was inedible.

As a gluten intolerant person it’s often hard to find gf restaurants that are fully GF but this is one of them. The crepes here are made with buckwheat flour and are divine. They were so good we travelled to Kuranda to have them twice in two days while on holiday in Trinity Beach.

Tranquil setting among the markets. Number 18 crepe is so good, fresh, tasty and huge. Unless you have skipped breakfast, recommend share this with a loved one. To the staff... your expert customer care makes a quick bite to eat, an experience of a lifetime. Thank you.

Our family of three enjoyed an incredible lunch at Petit Cafe, which is located within the markets at the top end of town. Our son chose the nutella crepes while my wife and I selected savoury options. All three of us were impressed with the size and quality of our meals. They were fresh, delivered within a quick time frame, and the service was friendly, warm and attentive.

What a wonderful find. We almost didn’t walk far enough up the hill to the Rainforest Markets but I am very glad we did. Our pancakes and iced coffees were to die for. Mine was the passionfruit and mango and my daughter had the salted caramel. We tried very hard to make sure we did not leave any of those delectable flavours on the plate!

Crepe suzette- this is 5 star dining kind of food- complex layers of flavour and texture that are absolutely YUM! Worth the visit for this alone. Friendly, prompt service by French guys, happy to suggest popular menu items/ explain anything in their wonderful accents. Outdoor dining in the fresh air👍
