We got the Käseknacker sausages which were tasty and $12 each as a lunch plate with salad and sauerkraut. Tasted very good and genuine. They only take cash and were running low on change... maybe rime to invest in EFTPOS?

There's a bunch of average looking cafes & eateries all along the main road of Kuranda, but this place looks quite fun from the outside. They serve simple German style sausages with the usual German side dishes, the meals come out pretty fast, the price is really decent, the food is filling, and the German beer is pretty nice as well. The lady working the register & the grill was very friendly. Definitely worth a visit for anything from a quick bite to eat to a more substantial meal. They only took cash while I was there, not debit / credit cards, but you can buy enough things there with a $10 or $20 note.

Have this after getting off the Kuranda train and exploring the markets. Food was authentic and good value, the only thing was that this is a cash only business which was a bit odd during COVID times although it is written. Would definitely recommend eating here during your trip to Kuranda for something a little bit different.

Outstanding customer service, friendly and welcoming with information on food allergies. Great value for money lunch on the Konigsplatte, we had bratwurst and kaseknacker which were both quality products. Beer was amazingly cold perfect !

We were offered a free sample in front of the restaurant. My wife said that we were vegetarians and she was told that there was a veggie sausage on the menu and that it was great. We took a chance. The veggie sausage was pretty good, the potato salad was better and the German beer was a nice compliment. Reasonable prices. You have to pay with cash or some sort of money transfer.

I came from Japan. The food is special and delicious, the service is good, and the staff's smiles are the best! The restaurant is easy to remember because it is in front of the bus stop connecting Cairns and Kuranda. Payment is cash only, and the bus also only accepts cash, so the combination of bus and hot dog to Kuranda is very good.

After a long walk (12km) from the bottom of Stoney Creek we were looking forward to a nice cool ale and some German tucker, well what a disappointment. The sausages were terrible, sauerkraut half cooked, potato salad below average. A Bunnings sausage sizzle would have been better. We had been there in previous years and enjoyed the atmosphere and food but this time you dropped the ball, we won't be back

Came across this little hidden gem whilst walking the village looking for somewhere to eat. Go upstairs and you are into a full restaurant. Fabulous place
Tasteful German sausages served either hot dog style (with onion and sauerkraut) or as a plate (with potato salad and other sides) as well as cold German beers. We had the Kaseknacker & Bratwurst. They were so good I went back for a second.

A famous hot dog shop in Kuranda Village.
・Thiringer Bratwurst: $8
I like sausages that are crisp and juicy, so this was a little different from my favorite, but the sausage was herb-flavored and not too smelly, and went well with the cabbage sauerkraut (a German pickle).
However, the bread was quite chewy, which was a shame.

A great place to eat when in Kuranda. The staff were casual and welcoming, the meal was yummy, making it a perfect place for lunch. A good selection of German sausages and delicious potato salad yum yum

A very laid back place.
We ordered 2 Bratwurst meals and drinks and the guy said sit and he'll bring them out.
We offered to pay as we should have before sitting and he said pay later if you like the food.
Luckily, for him I guess, we liked the food.
