Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Bought the chunky beef and pepper pie, no chunks of beef at all, just mince and pepper. Not a bad taste but not what they advertise, very disappointing. Businesses like this let down country bakers .

Stopped here for a quick lunch while travelling. Had a sausage roll and a cake. Both were nice. There was a nice little eating area outside with quirky signs. There were also clean toilets around the back.

Pies were great and great value. However $1.45 for a single bread roll I felt was a rip off especially as nothing was visibly priced and cash only ? This has put me off trying to support small businesses as we travel.. hopefully future bakeries...will restore my faith.More

Worth calling upon as as bread is baked daily and cakes, fresh sandwiches and a selection of other goodies available. Since 2005 they have increased variety and are now self promoting making calling in more attractive. Stayed in Blackall four days and each day visited...the bakery.More

The bakery was the first place we came across early one morning in search of breakfast where they sold pies and sausages rolls plus coffee. The shop entrance was tiny and only 2 or 3 people could fit in before it was overcrowded. Unfortunately the...lady serving us had a bit of a lousy attitude like “it would have been good except for having customers”. We ate outside under a sign that read “Blackall’s Own Tree of Knowledge – whilst sitting underneath Bullsh*t welcomed”.More

Friendly staff, great selection of breads, rolls, cakes & of course pies & sausage roll. Always a customer inside whenever I walked past & as we found travelling the Outback the bakeries the 1st place most people stop at.

On a road trip and passing through Blackall, we found this little bakery by the main road (Landsborough Highway). We nipped in to grab something for morning tea and some bread rolls for later in the day. Lovely bread and great pastries and cakes. Service...was very friendly and efficient. There were a conveniently couple of tables and chairs at the side of the bakery, next to Blackall's very own amusing version of Barcaldine's "Tree of Knowledge". A very handy stop for refreshment when travelling between Barcaldine and Charleville.More

We bought a loaf of bread, vanilla slice and large apple pie. All were very scrumptious. The apple pie was really heavy so full of apple.

We have been to this bakery twice in the last week. Between those two trips, we have tried the meat pies, the sausage rolls and the chicken and pesto triangle. HIGHLY recommend the meat pies - you don't need to add sauce as they have...their own flavours. We will definitely come back here and would highly recommend this bakery. Please be aware there IS NO EFTPOS available...possibly in keeping with country charm - but can be a bit confronting if you're a city slicker who pays for everything on card :) There is also a cute little eating area outside the bakery under the trees.More

Worth stopping in here even if its just for a slice. Service with a smile and plenty to choose from. There were hot pies as well as slices and a coffee machine.

Wow. Best pies we have had after touring around Kimberley’s for 6 weeks. Also friendly service and although it was late afternoon, the Pies tasted like they had just been made. Grey Nomads, don’t miss this bakeru

Time for a quick break on our journey...we stopped at Barcaldine for a coffee break. Out the front of this bakery there is a chap who I sat with for a moment... when I say 'chap'... he is a 'dummy'. While I sat there, a...local, older gentleman in a scooter stopped and asked me how I was.. ( you have to love country towns!). We made small chit chat and mentioned I had made a new friend. The older gentleman raised his eyebrow and said, "Beware your new friend... he is lazy and rude". Of course I laughed and he continued on with... "... he is always seen sitting around doing nothing and he never says hello! " . Just brilliant. This bakery oozes personality.... with super friendly staff. We ordered cuppas and I tried one of the sweet rolls from their counter. OMG it was so good. Soft, tasty … perfect. Blackall is a great place to stop... they have Jackie's memorial, their tree of knowledge ( yes, that one is interesting) and the black stump. I really loved this stop... the community in this town is really lovely. After leaving the bakery the owner was out inviting us to share some bull**it under their tree of knowledge.More
