Easy to find large restaurant on the corner of Raglan st Daylesford. It’s in a converted house, the decor is red and white tablecloths with electric candlelight and big windows looking out over the town fountain. The restaurant is open plan but includes several separate rooms. Its very clean. It’s big enough for a corporate function or group event but also perfect for a romantic dinner. The food was excellent. We had chicken tikka, onion bhaji, gobi Manchurian and naan. We intended to have dessert but were well satisfied with the entree and mains. There is a full range of alcoholic beverages and soft drinks. Meals are served by wait staff accompanied by a robot who transports the meals from the kitchen and swiftly removes dirty dishes. Free carpark adjoins thé restaurant. Staff were solicitous, checking our satisfaction with meals during service. We will definitely eat here again. Closed on Mondays the week we were in Daylesford.

Simply a wonderful restaurant. The food is superb, the ambience is lovely, and the views overlooking Daylesford are sublime. On our most recent visit, the staff were very accommodating of our interest in traditional Indian festivals, and gave us very patient insights. The serving robot has a cat face, which is fantastic. My teenaged daughter adds "the Aloo Baingan Masala changed my life forever."

We walked in and immediately felt warm, it was cold outside. We were shown to our table promptly and with a smile. Waitress asked us if the music was too loud - speaker was close to our table. We appreciated the music volume being lowered. We shared onion baji for entree and I had the chicken curry and saffron rice. My partner enjoyed a chicken lentil curry with rice. I ordered Garlic naan. The chicken was tender and we requested medium curries. The servings were generous. Only criticism is I couldn’t taste or see garlic on my garlic naan. We look forward to returning when next in Daylesford. Oh, we didn’t drink but alcohol is reasonably priced and they accept BYO Wine only.

Lovely meal here tonight. Delicious food, prompt service from pleasant staff and nice decor. The robot which brought our food to the table which the waitress then served was a novelty. Highly recommended!

My wife and 2 other close friends visited this restaurant a few weeks ago. We were surprised at the size of the restaurant, the staff who were both professional and friendly. I travel to India regularly and have been spoiled with wonderful food across the entire continent . This restaurant did not disappoint. Our meals all arrived quickly, were exceptionally tasty, large and truly wonderful. The wine list was large enough and well priced for those who drank.. A number in the group were vegetarians and these dishes were as tasty as the others ordered. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. If you are in the Daylesford area do not miss this restaurant.

Not sure what has happened here. Change of ownership? Change of Chef?? Perhaps is was just an off night? We attended this restaurant Friday 14 July - our 39th Wedding Anniversary. Brought a bottle of our favourite wine, only to be told "We are fully licenced". Fair enough, although we book a weekend away in Daylesford a couple of times a year & always dine here, and previously was always BYO wine. Upon looking at the pitiful wine list, almost half of which was blacked out with a texter, we opted for beer & a quick meal, instead of a relaxed dinner over wine. We ordered seekh kebabs, which were extremely "gamey', so much so that I suspected it was either mutton or goat. The chilli chicken was nice, to be fair, but the beef madras while tender & spicy, was in desperate need of salt. The garlic naan lacked salt, butter & garlic & was thin & dry. The two entrees, 2 beers, beef madras, small rice & a garlic naan was $85. We won't be back here, but will instead try the other Indian restaurant just outside of town.

This is the best Authentic Indian restaurant at daylesford. We dined in there for two consecutive days on Saturday and Sunday. We tried multiple items like non veg platter, peas polao, butter nun, goat masala, chilli chicken etc along with wine. Among all tandoori chicken, seekh kabab, goat masala and butter nun was the best. Besides food, the restaurant is excellent from the ambiance prospective and we had a really nice time there. If you are confused what to order, you can trust their suggestions as we also did the same and didn't regret a second. We will again visit daylesford just to satisfy our taste buds here.

We visited there last night for dinner from Melbourne. It was our first visit. Customer service was poor & staff was rude. Long wait for food, even it was not that busy. The garlic naan’s was so thick & burnt. The flour they used is very cheap quality. Kadai paneer was not good quality (Doesn’t look like kadai paneer) . Garden salad was not presentable. If you ask for papadum, (Which is normally complimentary in Indian restaurants) they will charge you for that as well. All over, it was very bad experience. Not worth trying. I wish to give them 0 star rating, but their is no option.

The food was great, full of flavour. The first bite I felt like I stepped in New Delhi, absolutely full of flavour, spice and authentic flavours. The absolute great service, served with a great attitude and made the experience delightful. They constantly followed up with our table and ensured we had everything we needed all the time. Absolutely delighted with the experience and definitely recommend everyone to check out this restaurant, don’t miss out

We went to drink just tea with family around 6pm. When we entered we were waiting for few minutes and when hostess came she went back and came back saying they are fully booked for dinner. I understand they will be busy for dinner but they could at least accommodated us for half an hour. Dinner reservation could not be at the same time for all their guest. It wasn’t the process which upset me it was the way the message was delivered and the way we were denied. Maybe your restaurant must be good in town but attitude of the staff is a complete zero. And then later we went to spies of India restaurant which is 5 mins away from them and they could accomodate us even if they had a packed dinner booking. We were just the tourists there they should have thought once before showing us out.

We visited without a booking and were made very welcome. The service was excellent, and the food great. The prices were very good, and there was a big selection of dishes that would suit many tastes. This was a lovely evening and well worth a visit.

Used for the first, won't be the last, time. Very friendly, polite and family run business. Most importantly, the food was delicious and ready on time. Prices are the norm for the area, however they, very kindly, gave us some extras free of charge. The takeaway was lovely, modern and clean, highly recommended.

Our dinner was so lovely, beautiful flavours and able to order whether we liked our food mild, medium or spicy. Hari the person who looked after us was very hospitable, friendly and efficient. The menu was fantastic with lots of choices. We have been there so many times as we live locally and decided it was time to share it so everyone can enjoy this delightful place.

One of the best Indian food I’ve had in Australia. Everything is made fresh, even the paneer- the chilli paneer was beautifully balanced between sweet, salty and spicy. The service was very kind and well paced. I’ll be back for sure

Our first night in Daylesford and decided to try the local Indian Restaurant. From the outside it looks like a house, but once you enter you see neat cloth covered tables (with the usual white paper over the top) and hear soft indian music being piped. Our waiter was attentive and happily recommended dishes we hadn't tried before. Everything was delicious and authentic. If you like your Indian food spicy then you have to specify, otherwise the heat is toned down a little for 'Western' tastes. A decent wine list was also available, with some being offered by the glass.
