This was held on the last Sunday in the month and was always an excellent meal. Nice people in a wonderful setting. It is a shame it has closed and I wish them well in retirement.

Thank you!
My partner and I had viewed and booked to have Yew Lodge host our wedding. We were originally going to have a registry office ceremony and the reception at yew Lodge, however the owners pressured us into having the whole day at the venue which...meant more expensive fees for the registrar and we would have to give notice again. We rearranged the legal bits and let yew Lodge know and asked a few more questions all which were answered promptly. No less than 4 days after we received an email advising that they were cancelling our booking as they were closing the business as of 31st December. Not even the courtesy of a phone call. They did not think to mention this in our conversation a few days.prior. This shambles of a business would have known the state of the business when we booked at the end of October and should not have taken our booking. This has left us over 600 pounds out of pocket on an already tight budget for our wedding in 6 months time.More
We had the immense pleasure of visiting Yew Lodge for the first time. The food was excellent, the staff extremely friendly and helpful and the location was beautiful. The atmosphere was relaxed and convivial. A thoroughly good time was had by all of our party.
We're so pleased you enjoyed your visit to Yew Lodge Country House and I remember meeting you. We do have many regular guests and we hope to see you again soon.
Just a quick line to say thanks for a lovely Sunday lunch. We all enjoyed the meal and it was a great opportunity for us all to get together. It took a long time coming but it was much appreciated. Top marks for the food...and service - even the weather was goo.More
We had our golden wedding lunch at Yew Lodge and it was the perfect place for it. The staff were so helpful and the food was delicious. A table was set up for photos, cards and presents and a beautiful antique silver cake stand was...supplied for our cake. The tables were lovely, adorned with golden roses and name place cards. The owner even helped me wrap up pieces of cake for everyone to take home! We were fortunate with the weather and we spent much of the time outside. I cannot fault the place or the people!More
We're so pleased you enjoyed your special day and the weather was certainly the icing on the cake! It is lovely for us to be involved in some small way in such happy celebrations.
Outstanding venue and amazing chef. John Anthony, our chef, looked after us from the moment we arrived, especially our dietary requirements. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you John, looking forward to visiting Yew Lodge again. Keep up the good work!
A superb Sunday lunch, delicious food, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Delightful restaurant in a lovely country house and a great setting. Staff were attentive, courteous and efficient. All in all a real treat.
We're delighted you enjoyed your Sunday lunch with us and we really appreciate you taking the time to post this review. Hopefully, we will see you again soon!
Always a welcome like being part of the family. Food was terrific - especially the perfectly cooked roast beef and all the homemade desserts. Very efficient a d friendly service from the young team. An added bonus on sunny day in May was a stroll...round the grounds and woods to take in the beautiful collection of rhododendrons and azaleas. The best and the best value Sunday lunch in the area by farMore
Wow! Thank you so much for such a lovely review. We really enjoy hosting Sunday lunch as well because we have many regular diners who have become friends rather than guests. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
This is an ideal venue for families, especially multi-generational ones, to enjoy an excellent meal in beautiful surroundings. The experience extends beyond the meal as the owners open up their garden to enjoy for the afternoon.
Yew Lodge serves Sunday Lunches once each month to the General Public on a pre-booking basis. This Country House is set in its own spacious grounds and whilst normally lunch is taken in the main house, during the Pandemic a larger banqueting suite in the...grounds is used for social distancing. Food is all freshly prepared in the adjacent kitchens and served by a young, polite and enthusiastic waiting staff, overseen by the welcoming proprietors. Bars are available for drinks and with an extensive wine list. Guests are welcome to stroll in the grounds and to linger having lunched. Smart casual dress is required and for those who enjoy eating out this is an excellent venue to visit. What's not to like.More

Visited Yew Lodge in May for a Sunday lunch with the family. Really lovely meal, great service and beautiful location. Highly recommended.
Thank you so much for taking the time to post this review and we're delighted you enjoyed your visit to Yew Lodge Country House. It's good to know we weren't too rusty after 7 months in lockdown!
Yew Lodge do a Sunday lunch on the last Sunday of each month. It is always excellent! Recently I have had to go on quite a restrictive diet but they did the main course gluten free and made me a delicious fruit dessert as I...have to avoid sugar. I was delighted.More
With the easing of lockdown, it was lovely to see everyone again and we're delighted you enjoyed your lunch. Letting us know of any special dietary requirements in advance of your visit (as you did) means we can more easily adapt the menu and offer...More
This was our first time at Yew lodge country house. We can't fault anything or anyone. Service was excellent, food was absolutely delicious. The lemon Posset is highly recommended. Had an enjoyable walk around the gardens after lunch. Beautiful end to a perfect visit. Thankyou...so much.More
Many thanks for taking the time to write this review and we're so pleased you enjoyed your visit to Yew Lodge Country House. We encourage guests to take a stroll around the gardens after lunch - to make the whole occasion a pleasant afternoon, not...More
This place is only open one Sunday a month for lunches but it is a very nice lunch. The owners are wonderfully welcoming and friendly making you feel like guests rather than customers. The young waitresses were all very smart and polite too. Due to...Covid 19 restrictions everyone dined in the large wedding room which was smart but more suited to a evening event than lunch. The menu was just 2 courses and simple just as a Sunday lunch should be. I had the roast beef and it was magnificent. The vegetables were all brought to the table in a single bowl for diners to serve themselves which meant by the time everyone had picked out the bits they wanted it was only luke warm which was a shame. The desert menu was also simple and were all traditional housewives favourites for a Sunday roast adding to the family feel unfortunately there was nearly an hour between the two courses suggesting the kitchen can only serve one course at a time. Guests are encouraged to stay after lunch and enjoy the grounds which are lovely but not as well maintained as they deserve to be. Overall, considering the Covid restrictions, certainly worth a visit and good valueMore
We really appreciate you taking the time to post such a detailed review. Many thanks for your suggestions which we will take on board to make our Sunday lunch an even better experience.
Cannot recommend highly enough, stunning venue, delicious food and friendly service. Excellent value for money and made to feel very welcome.
