Good for a quick pick More like a pub than restaurant, foods ok, portions a bit on the small side but thats ok for me but wasn't for my hungry man. Wouldnt recommend for kids but i supose everyone has a preference, id go back maybe for a coffe or drink but wouldnt bother eating unless just wanted a little... More

CJ's is fast becoming a local institution the owners care passionately about the place and so do the locals - the food and atmosphere is well worth the visit. Elis they often have live music. say goodbye to the sterile national chain eateries there should be a CJ's on every high street.

Everything started ok until the food was brought to the table. I looked at my sons fish and chips and immediately told the young chef (or assistant) that the piece of fish was not acceptable... Beware if your visiting here with kids as a member of staff was very rude and aggressive towards me. I visited here with my 2 children and their 2 cousins so 4 children in all. We decided to go upstairs to an outside area which was totally empty making us the only ones there. The children were exploring and just... More

Love CJ's, always a lovely atmosphere in there. Plenty of comfy leather sofas and cushions on benches round tables, feels very bohemian. Great roof terrace for sunny days, although they have just added a glass roof which spoils it in my opinion - I want to sit in the sun properly, not roast under glass! But won't put me off... More

We had breakfast here on both days that we stayed at the adjoining Gothic House hotel as it was included. Although we couldn't have got better for miles around. The food was cooked to order from fresh produce and delivered to our table hot and pleasantly presented and was delicious. And the coffee was very nice too. During the afternoons/evening... More

We were staying a couple of nights in the associated Gothic House accomodation and used CJ's not only for the breakfast but as a bar/cafe at other times. It is a relaxing place with a good selection of drinks (the Harvey's real ale was excellent) and a nice selection of food. It's one of those places where you find people... More
