Called on for lunch - food and drinks were great, friendly welcome, but no Worcester sauce for madam's tomato juice. So, they only went out to the local shop and got some. Now that's the sort of service that draws us back to the Peak District time after time.

Visited at the weekend for lunch and the food was excellent, a lovely meal that was very much enjoyed and for a great price too! Shame we don't live in the area as we would certainly be back!

We ended up eating here twice on our holiday staying nearby at Miller's Dale. First just the four of us, then we arranged for two lots of friends to meet up for a large get together meal, because we knew it would fit us all in. Reasonable choices, good food, suitablef or all ages and nicely priced.

We were staying in the hotel so thought we'd try their restaurant as well. Standard pub menu with good variety. Friendly staff. Enjoyed our meal, but nothing exceptional.

Stopped in here with some friends for a pint. The landlord was busying himself behind the bar and didn't seem to acknowledge our presence for a while. The bar looked quite bare and disappointingly there was just one beer on tap, that's it, no choice. The landlord was quite unapologetic and was quite abrupt in his 'like it or lump... More

We were staying in the village for a week so thought we'd try The George for lunch. My husband and I both had the roast beef with Yorkshire pudding, roast and mashed potatoes, carrots, peas, cauliflower and broccoli. Couldn't fault it! We then managed to squeeze in a chocolate brownie with ice cream which was the best I'd had outside... More
