Stopped off here for a swift drink after a wander around Hathersage up to see Little John's grave. Friendly staff and a decent pub.

Friendly pub with good food. Handy Car Park all very good. I particularly like good vegetables which they provide.

A little off the main road in Hathersage, went there on a whim at the recommendation of a friend. Surprisingly bustling for a midweek night, welcomed immediately by a staff member and invited to take a seat. Told us that they were trying to offer waiter service and much as possible so we didn't even have to stand at the... More

Great pub, with fantastic home made food, also gas puddings from the original Bakewell Pudding shop. The Steak and Ale pie is definite favourite.

I first came across this pub a year ago when it was one of the stops that myself and a group of friends made whilst doing the 'Ale Trail'. Having repeated the Ale Trail again last Saturday I again revisited and found a warm, welcoming and lively atmosphere: a great place to spend a couple of hours sampling a real... More

Popped in for Sunday lunch after a long walk - service good, nice atmoshere, beer great and the roast was really good. I'd have prefferred my beef a little rarer (I wasn't asked how I'd like it) and the horseradish was served in a rather large ramekin (which was probably taken around as requested - I'd rather have a non... Thank you very much for your review. I am glad to hear you enjoyed your roast with us. We do tend to serve our roasts medium to suit most customers but if you have booked in with us and request in advance to have some beef cooked rare we would be more than happy to comply. Hope to see you... More

Only stones trow away from Little Johns grave, this idyllic pub serves not only delicious food, but perfect customer service. From the moment you walk in the door, the friendly and attentive staff provide a warm welcome. The menu is classic homecoming with stews, pies, steaks and braised beef. Theres also a good selection of drinks, including locally brewed beers.... More

The service was very good and beer excellent. Food was nice but not outstanding. Sticky beef shin was really nice, and the home-made Yorkshire pudding good, but the roast sweet potatoes were not very crispy. Parmesan parsnips were quite nice, but with the sweet potatoes, it made the whole plate a bit sweet. That theme was the same with the... More
