Warm and cozy atmosphere, amazing tasty typical English food! Everything is on point. The staff is more than friendly and helpful. The cook himself goes out of the kitchen just to check if you are enjoying the food and if you maybe need more gravy...More

We visited on a Sunday at lunchtime. We hadn’t booked but were able to get a table in the dining area which was great. We both had the soup starter and I went on to have lasagne and my partner the beef roast. The soup...More

Great food and prices. Very nice staff, and great location! Extra points for having an open fire, so nice after taking a hike in the area. Also allowed with dogs which is a plus if hiking with dogs.

Spent four days in the valley walking and sampling the local hostelries. The only one that could be described as welcoming is Ye Olde Nags Head. Plus they have a great range of well-kept ales, decent wines, well-served and extensive pub food menu, log fires....More

A popular pub. Good choice of pub food. My specials choice of Turkey escollop with brie was tasty and filling. The chips were good and the busy staff very helpful. No doubt that I would return there on any future trip to Castleton.

Dogs are more welcome than humans sometimes 😂😂 Of course bring your dogs they are allowed in the bar area and hayloft. We book tables in the hayloft but not in the bar so phone and ask one of the team to book.
