Was fortunate to coincide with the visit of the Cask Marque adjudicator. He reckoned the beer was very slightly too warm. I thought it was just right. Landlord beer was excellent and the pork and Stilton pie was spot on. Quaint pub which is well...More

Hi thanks for your review! We believe we serve our beer at the perfect temperature to bring out all the flavour, and I'm glad you agree! Although cask marque prefer it to be served a degree cooler, it does not stop us from being a...More

Hi thanks for the great review! Glad you enjoy our menu, although there isn't a traditional battered fish and chips on the menu, there is always a fish option that is available with our home cooked chips (which are amazing). Give it a try next...More

My son who lives in Yorkshire found this pub. It is approx half way between where he and family live and where our other son, and we live. As they have just had a puppy it sounded ideal to meet up for Father's Day. A...More

A warm welcome awaits you at our family run pub, a hub for real ale drinkers and walkers alike. A traditional 17th century village inn, where highwayman Dick Turpin is reported to have frequented on his travels. An increasingly rare breed of unspoilt inn, where time has stood still, encapsulating the character and charm of the building. With fresh homecooked food, a selection of fine real ales and warmth from the open fires, there is much to tempt you. Nothing comes close to our pork pie and a pint!
