Called in yesterday without booking, but late in the day, we hadn't been here before, but as they were open after 2pm, we all thought we would give it a try, and no problem getting a table for four. Friendly staff, and a very good choice of food, so we all elected for the carvery, the lady serving was pleasant... More

I've got lots of positive things to say, nice food, good service, helpful staff, for the most part and very clean ladies with lovely toiletries. However the couple of firsts for me involved a grand marnier cheesecake. The lady that took my our order was a little surprised at my order and struggled a little taking it in. I showed... More

As myself and my partner had previously drank here before, we'd thought we would try out the food. Though it was steak night, we were quite hungry and decided to opt for the carvery. However, please note that you need to obtain a ticket before heading towards the carvery. But because we were new customers and it wasn't frightfully busy,... More

The carvery meals are excellent value as there are always a variety of pies, stews and casseroles to try as well as the beautifully cooked carvery meats. Everything is delicious, no soggy vegetables, and you can eat as much as you can get onto your plate. This is definitely the best carvery meal that I have tried for many, many... More

Went for midday lunch with friends. Although it says carvery, the choice of main course is not limited to slices of meat , but other dishes are there as well. You can just select the meat or have a mixture of dishes. Tasty food, plenty of it and a good selection of well cooked ( not over cooked) vegetables. Lovely... More

Totally agree with other reports of a complete disaster. We had to wait while table was set [cutlery, condiments-2 saltpots and 4 cheap crackers]. 2 chairs had to be located. Queued at bar for starter drinks. No food after 1hr, had to find staff. No other courses except carvery without locating staff. Left without last 2 courses as waited long enough.... More

We called in mid - walk for a pint, and were made very welcome. Most customers were tucking in to the very popular and appetising looking carvery. We need to call in again to sample it. The beer (and Mulled wine) were very good.
