Back again with family & friends and nothings changed, the food was fabulous along with the service, very reasonably priced with a relaxed atmosphere, can't wait to go back.

Stopped off at this pub on our way back to our hotel. First impression was that it is a 'local pub' slightly worse for wear. Hence the 4 star. However, the welcome and the food far outweigh any cosmetic shortfalls. The staff were beyond friendly and the service was impeccable. The menu was vast with a large selection of meals,... More

My friend and I facied a nice Sunday lunch so I rang up and booked a table. We were greeted nicely and politely. The choice of roast dinners was excellent. Beef, Chicken or Lamb if remember correctly. The meals were served surprisingly quickly, were of good quality, had large portions of meat along with lots of vegetables. We enjoyed our... More

We had dinner here twice while staying at Skiddaw view holiday park down the road. I cannot fault this pub at all. We were greeted by the landlord who had a treat for the dog as it is very dog friendly and he made us feel very welcome. The beer is good and looked after well and the food is... More

Went to this pub for an evening meal. Were served immediately, plenty of room. Food cooked fresh to order and plenty of it. Main meals very filling. Desserts are excellent and portions of meals are very good. Couldn't finish my dessert. Staff friendly and welcoming.

Had meal here whilst walking Hadrians Wall Trail as it's directly on the trail so well worth waiting for or planning around. Fabulous menu, wide selection and great value. Attentive, polite and helpful staff. Spotless inside including the toilets. Much to our suprise we were offered a lift as, unnoticed by us whilst we were eating, the heavens broke. This... More

I wrote a review of the Greyhound after friends and I met for coffee and a sweet at this pub earlier in 2016. After moving to Plumbland this summer, The Greyhound has become our "local" pulling a lovely Jennings pint. It is a popular stop for folks along the Moota Road. However, the food is as terrific as the ale!... More

You know when you are hungry, need a drink and see a pub but are not sure? All pubs say 'good food' even when it's not! Pleased to say this was a proper good food pub. Lovely Brie and Bacon sandwiches with side order of really good chips. Good call.

We turned up on Saturday night about 7.30, not having booked a table. Not a problem give us 5 mins to sort out. The 4 of us had a sharing dish of wedges, onion rings, chicken , side salad and dips. Chilli jam was lush! Mains were , chicken, steak, veg Wellington pies and chicken curry. Big portions too full... More
