I've just eten over here and to be hinest it is quete dissapointing, food was flavourless and the medium rare steak was well done. Dirty napkin and glass wasn't a good starter aswell. Beter places to eat around here.

A super welcome was waiting for us- staff were friendly including the one with 4 legs! The Kids had a great time playing with Monty and the food was fab and local too. Staying in the area for a few days and ate out every night. This was the best pub we found during our stay. Will come back next... More

A great pub serving craft beers and freshly prepared food. Hand made burgers and home made chips (a rarity these days) went down a treat. If you decide to eat here i highly recommend the gammon with a duck egg...especially if you have an appetite! Good food and good beer = good pub!

When we arrived at the pub hoping for lunch there was a removal lorry outside loading furniture and the pub was closed. Not sure, but I think it may be closed for the foreseeable future so check before you visit

Popped into this pub to meet up with friends. We chose the Engine as it has a good reputation for serving real ales. We were not disappointed. It has a very traditional cosy feel. Well worth a visit. They do serve food but on this occasion we only had drinks.

Lovely pub with open fires and friendly land lady. Visited here for my friends 30th birthday whilst staying in Cark. We were made to feel so welcome and the lady running the pub looked after us so well! They also have a really cool dog called jasper! Worth a visit.

The Engine Inn is a real ale pub with real fires and good pub grub. If you are hiking the Cumbria Coast path it is definitely worth making a stop or staying overnight. Dogs are welcome in the bar but not in the bedrooms.
