More than just a railway cafe brilliant setting convenient seating inside and outside I had scampi and chips well above average my wife had a jacket potato with chilli beef which she described as " amazing. Well worth eating here great vfm.
We got the train up from Ravenglass to Dalegarth and spent the afternoon exploring. On arrival we had a nice lunch from the cafe. The cafe was cosy and the staff were friendly. Lots of homemade hot food to choose from, as well and lots...of delicious treats. Later in the afternoon we treated ourselves to coffee and scones before heading back down on the train. Everything was delicious. Looking forward to visiting again soon.More
Stopped in after a walk on a very hot day. I had a tuna panini & latte, which were as nice as I have had anywhere. The staff were very friendly and helpful; brought me a pint glass of cold water, which was a life...saver! The dining area is very pleasant and the toilet facilities were spotless. Next time I am going to take the train journey (and have another panini)!More
This is the cafe on the platform at Boot Station at the end of the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway. Tea, coffee sandwiches and paninis and a selection of hot food reasonable prices but understandably busy when trains come in. Some outdoor seating. The ‘price of...a Magnum test’ revealed £2.02! Somewhat of a captive audience as you have to walk a bit to find any where else to eat.More
We were a family of four who had lunch here after a walk. The views are lovely, the portions are large and the prices are reasonable, but the food was just average. Nothing seemed to be home made, but instead i think everything was bought...in and heated up.More
We visited here yesterday. Beautiful building, with access to a little play area. We ordered two coffees, and were told that they only had sachets... but we're still charged £2.40 for them. Our kids wanted a hot chocolate (but they never finish them). The lady...behind the counter helpfully said she'd make a smaller kids' hot chocolate, but then charged us adult prices for them. It was a dear visit.More
We dropped in for coffee soon after lunch on Friday afternoon. There was no cappuccino except from a sachet as the machine was broken so it was latte or filtered coffee. Then there was no semi-skimmed milk. The mars bar slice was good and the...cups of coffee were large. You get a good views of the Ratty trains arriving and leaving. The toilets are good and clean. The gift and book shop has lots of interesting books about the area as well as maps and guidebooks.More
