We booked a table in advance via phone. We arrived early for a drink, and would have quite happily sat outside, but were able to sit at our table for the evening. We were tucked out of the way at the back which was perfect....We had the pork belly and Brie for starters, which were absolutely delightful. For mains, I had the steak chilli. I can’t remember what the others in the party had but all plates were empty and everyone commented on the high quality of the food. All staff were polite. Special mention to the lady who recommended a walk up to Blea Tarn when we mentioned we were going for a walk the next day. Looking forward to our next visit.More

This is the place to come for amazing food, a great selection of drinks and a warm welcome when you have been walking the nearby hills and odd mountain. A menu to cater for all tastes, I had a roast beef dinner with a great...selection of vegetables and wonderful home made gravy. Finished my meal with a helping of the home made double chocolate pudding with fresh cream. Utterly divine and perfect after a long walk! You MUST book in advance to avoid disappointment. Loved it so much, went back a day later and had the Chef's Black Pudding & Haggis Bon Bons with whisky sauce. Wow! Heaven on my lips. The Boot Inn have worked so hard to be Covid-19 compliant. The inn is spotless. I have no hesitation recommending this gem.More

We arrived with our XL dog needing food and drink after a hard day's walking and the Boot Inn did not disappoint. Our roast lamb and smoked Cumberland sausage dishes were excellent, and the service was excellent throughout. These people have tried really hard to...keep their essential atmosphere despite all the covid precautions, and they've cracked it. Truly excellent.More

We were staying in the village so it was an obvious place to try particularly with the discount scheme, but it was so good we went back a few days later and paid full price. Great pub menu, everything we had was well presented and...great tasting, all served with a smile from the team. Good selection of drinks too. Social distancing was in force, and seemed to be working reasonably well despite how busy it was when we were there. Beer garden helps spread people out as well.More

Second visit in our short trip to the Lakes,as this place is wonderful! Staff are polite, made to feel very welcome even with 3 dogs! And, most importantly, the food is divine!

Staying at the Brook House just down the road (highly recommended) and popped in for a couple of drinks. Social distancing is well organised but the pub was full. We sat outside on lovely tables with a big table umbrella and a patio heater. Food...looked very nice but we didn't eat there as we were outside (a bit cool and rainy despite the heater and the big umbrella!)More

Seriously delicious home cooked food. Great location, top service, great selection of beers. This place is a must visit if you are in the area. So good we ate here both nights. Just wish I had a bigger stomach so I could eat more.
