This inn is located in a remote and beautiful part of the Lake District, ideal for walking with options to do high fells and also many low level walks - such as lovely riverside walk from the doorstep. THe village of Boot is very picturesque, with lovely old mill. We had a spacious and very comfortable room, with great views.... More

Visited a couple of times for tasty stout and a warm by the log fire. However having seen the chunky chips being delivered we had to come back to sample. We were not disappointed and we also had a decent steak and an unusual chicken and leek suet pudding. All served with nice fresh veg. We got a warm welcome... More

I spent a long weekend in Boot in November with two friends. We ate dinner here twice. It clearly has a great chef. All the dishes we tried were absolutely top notch. The focus was clearly on top quality food really well cooked. It was noticeably in a different league than most pub grub restaurants. We ate once in the... More

Brook House Inn is set in thousands of acres of beautiful and unspoilt countryside, with fantastic walking access to some of the highest peaks in England. I chose to come here for the natural beauty and peace offered in the area, but my week-long break was made even more special by the wonderful hospitality I received at the inn. As... More

Stopped in whilst out walking.. Warm homely feel..Staff very friendly and willing to share knowledge on other pubs, restaurants in the area. Large array of malts at reasonable prices. Menu selection impressive. The kind of place where its easy to pass several hours without having to listen to annoying background TV. Would definately stop again to sample the awesome smelling... We were on a coach tour of 16 and we were all fed in 20 mins. The staff were so lovely and nothing was to much trouble. A nice atmosphere and good food. We had greek salad and chips and ploughman's lunch. Enjoy a glass of mulled wine. So excited that we could actually stay there as well. All ages... More

We were walking the Inn Way and so expected to be eating in pubs at night. The Brook House Inn was the only pub we visited that offered fresh vegetables (for a week we were eating bag salad and coleslaw). The food was excellently cooked, very tasty, well presented and served by hard working and attentive staff.

Much loved by walkers and visitors in general Brook House is unpretentious (while there is a variety of food on the menu, why go any further than their delicious cumberland sausage sandwich) it does boast a vast selection of single malts. It almost makes you hope it will rain.

We also have beers from many others brewers around the Country.Brook House Inn is one of the 3 hosts of the Boot Beer Festival, Boot Beer Festival is held in June every year and is one of the biggest beer festivals in the Lake District.
