Lovely setting but food lacking this time. Ordered a burger at this visit. Unfortunately it was poor. The bacon fat had not been cooked at all. There were no relishes or guerkins with the burger, so it was very bland. The lady serving didn't ask...More

Came here on sat evening with friends visiting us for a quick drink. Weather was nice so opted to sit out in the lovely beer garden. Lovely atmosphere, also pleasant inside too. Will be returning for food.

A traditional canal side watering hole, steeped in waterways culture and heritage. Boat shaped bar features no corporates but 6 local craft ales and 3 local craft lagers are made available alongside real ciders and perrys. The food is quite simply out of this world, locally sourced of course, contemporary interpretations of heritage cuisine using traditional methods. Chef Tom's fresh and loving preparation of all dishes reflects his passion for cooking and the satisfaction he gets from delivering more than is expected. Enjoy lively folk sessions in the bar and waterside entertainment in the summer, including the Middlewich Folk 'n' Boat Festival in June. Slow down, take a break and find a way to enjoy Dean's hospitality and The King's Lock Experience.
