This is the top end of the restaurants and offers fine dining with beautiful white table clothes and a lot of the food is sourced locally.

We ate here for our anniversary, our second tasting menu in two nights. We had eaten at a Michelin star restaurant the night before, so this meal had a lot to live up to. It started a little flat, when we were presented with a...More

The hotel restaurant is in a conservatory tacked on to the side of the building. Which is fine in summer but it’s damn cold in winter and we’ve vowed never to go again at that time of year. Which is why it’s been a while...More

While staying at the hotel I dined in the restaurant one night and really enjoyed my meal. The staff were great and the restaurant peaceful and relaxing. Very nice!

Had previously had an excellent meal in the main restaurant and dropped in for lunch and was ushered to the Brasserie section. Although it has a limited menu which was not a problem we were rather surprised and disappointed that one of the starters (Spicy...More

Went for lunch on a Saturday. Adequate parking space. Car park is on a slope, my vehicle escaped being crashed into by mm by an incompetent hill starter. Suggest park uphill to avoid issues of incompetent roll back. Hotel decor is a little dated but...More

Despite having reviewed in glowing terms previously, I feel compelled to do so again. We visited 26th Jan for a somewhat overdue Wedding Anniversary dinner. A special occasion deserved a special meal so we chose the 7 course tasting menu. I am a vegetarian but...More

The Alderley is a split-level conservatory on wooded slopes overlooking the Cheshire countryside. The family-run feel of the main sandstone country house is felt here too, where warm browns, gentle lighting and exemplary front-of-house staff make you really rather comfortable. The food's exceptionally good; all freshly made and sourced locally, as the breads and homemade butters testify. Temptations are many, like rump of Cheshire lamb, slow-cooked tomatoes, baby roasted potatoes and garden mint, £23.15, and 'Treacletown' pudding with butterscotch ice cream and toffee sauce, £6.50. Not to mention seared liver and bacon with herb mash and redcurrant jus from the table d'hote lunch menu, £13.95 for two excellent courses. Meals can be scaled up or down, as you like.
