A long wait before we had to ask to see a menu. This followed the disappointment of not having a window table as requested. Although we we offered a drink as a compensation we were irritated to see it listed on the bill. The meal...More

Excellent food, great scenery, good ambience but very expensive. This is one of those places where you need to go for a 'one time' experience. Tried the Saturday fixed menu - the lamb and the calamari was perfectly cooked.

We had the set lunch at £33 per head for 3 courses, excluding £7 per person charge if not member of National Trust whether you want to go around their garden, or not. The meal was very good, not historic as the late Michael Winner...More

The house is really nice of course, and so much history - recent and C18 - and wonderful gardens if the weather is good. We had an excellent meal for 4. Good wine choice, very good foods

Tasting menu accommodated despite being fully booked very professionally. Fantastic food, and really interesting wines and someone who was clearly passionate about what they were doing. Highlights were the foie gras and Turbot. You deserve the star you are aiming for!

Three of us had Chateaubriand, which on this day wasn't served as a two person dish as it usually is. It was really superb. Whatever you choose though I'm sure will be really delicious. Regards Margaret
If one dines in one of the Cliveden restaurants, but isn't a guest of the hotel, are you allowed to explore the grounds and the public areas of the hotel?

Yes you can - but as this is a National Trust (NT) property there is an extra charge unless you are a NT member.

The André Garrett Dining Room was originally the Drawing Room of the house and is a stunning south-facing spacious room which radiates with sunlight and looks out over the nineteenth-century Parterre, the gardens and River Thames. Its classical elegance and fine works of art give it an enviable touch of romance, and bring the history for which Cliveden is famous to life. Lunch and dinner are served here, offering classic English dishes combined with Cliveden's extensive cellar book. At lunchtimes, chose from the Market menu which offers tremendous value or from the more extensive a la carte selection. At dinner, enjoy award-winning modern classic English cuisine with dishes brimming with fresh seasonal ingredients and local produce. Please note, jeans or sportswear are not permitted at any time. Gentlemen are required to wear a jacket for dinner.
